I have notice lately since letting my hair go silver, a number of other women in my age bracket doing the same thing. It seems that we are making a statement without all the noise. The statement being "We have arrived and it ain't our mother's gray hair nor our grandmother's blue!"
You can see them anywhere, locks of silver flowing or short on women who do not look as old as our mothers did.And these silver hair foxy ladies smile that secret smile of wisdom. They have learned the secrets of accepting themselves with their beautiful hair and the freedom of it.
There is no more dying your hair. There is knowing You are at the best age ever with many great years to go. You have made it to the top of your game and won. It doesn't matter what that game is ,how big or small, it just matters that you made it no matter what was in your way.
The Secret Society of the Silver hairs doesn't meet for meeting in large groups, doesn't hold conventions, have secret handshakes or any special clothing to wear. All it requires is your natural silver hair. It's sorta like that other secrets societies we joined as we grew up. The ones of having your period, becoming a mother, going through menopause. But you will notice however, when you meet another member, even if you do not know her, you will smile at each other and sometime nod your head.
Its that acknowledgement from the sister members that we are Silver, Proud, Free. And to borrow a line from a song of our youth..You ain't seen nothing yet....
