Peter was well known for his bad luck when it came to, well almost everything. Whether it was in his alternate life as a crime-fighting hero or his life just as Peter Parker. It seemed like things never went his way and almost all the bad luck situations the universe seemed to drop him into it involved his life being on the line in one way or another. Now Peter never meant to sound like he was complaining when talking about his bad luck. He knew when he chose to put the skin-tight suit on exactly what he was getting into and the responsibilities that came with it. He always justified the life-threatening job like; if he didn't do the whole hero thing then who would? Sure there were other heroes out there but they focused on the big picture stuff while Peter wanted to make sure he looked out for the little guys. It wasn't a power thing for him and it wasn't even a fame thing and it most definitely wasn't a money thing. Peter himself chalked up his self-destructive tendencies to his strong urge to protect those that couldn't protect themselves. If he had the power to protect people and choose to walk away from this life then what kind of man would that make him? But in terms of bad ideas, this one had to be somewhere in the top 10 of horrible Spidey ideas. Peter had once again almost had his life cut short by some baddie in tight tights and that wasn't even the unusual part he was now strolling across the rooftops of the city with that very mercenary. Walking in time with each other as Peter followed behind Deadpool, if anyone saw them it might look like they were playing a game of follow the leader.

Such a horrible idea, I should have just pressured him for the information instead of him leading me to what is most definitely a trap. Peter thought as he watched Deadpool skip along balancing precariously on the ledge of the building. Deadpool's hands were tied behind his back with makeshift web cuffs. He doesn't seem that dangerous, this is the infamous mercenary I've heard so much about from the Avengers? He seems a little complacent about the whole situation like he couldn't care less about the situation he's in. Peter let out a silent sigh. This definitely was not a good idea, Peter you're going to regret this. Peter flinched as Deadpool stumbled over his own foot and almost went over the edge but caught his balance quickly and continued walking across the ledge heading south into the city. But then again what choice do I have this is the 8th mercenary to come after me just this week. I need to get to the bottom of who's hiring all these wackjobs.

When they first had their initial unpleasant encounter the sun had just been setting bur now the city was in full bloom as it came to life. The sun dipped below the skyline and darkness enveloped the city like a blanket. This was Peter's favorite part of the job, watching the city come alive at night like a special show just for him to see. Car horns blaring and the pitter-patter of feet on hard cement as each person made a beeline to their intended destinations, this was music to Peter's ears he could sit on the rooftops of New York City and never get tired of the constant motion of the city as it cycled the many people who called it home through its narrow streets.

Night's like this are the reason I love doing this job, Peter thought as he watched the city lights start to create a soft glow that engulfed him in a warm and peaceful feeling that made everything seem like it was far away, all his troubles and self-doubts were silenced in moments like this. Well, almost nights like this. Peter glanced at Deadpool as he crossed a bridge Peter had created with webbing allowing them to cross from building to building. Deadpool bounced up and down on the webbing giggling to himself, the sudden and aggressive shaking of the web made Peter lose his balance as he struggled to regain his footing he fell to his knees gripping to the webbing. Deadpool made it to the other building and continued whistling to himself. Peter regained his standing position and followed after Deadpool. Is that Brittany Spears? Peter was snapped out of his thoughts when the mercenary began to speak.

"You know I collect all the Avengers Trading Cards and I even have yours, I have two in mint condition with a holographic coating. Yeah it's really cool I know but anyways it says that you are the jokester Avenger, with a mouth that doesn't seem to ever shut," Deadpool hummed, "But seems to me like your playing the stoic moody teen tonight, so prey tell Spidey-Boy what's going on in that Spidey brain?"
