Peter looked across the table at the man eating opposite of him, smiling briefly he took another bite of his food contently.  For what felt like the millionth time in the last 24 hours he was completely and unimaginably happy with the way things were turning out between the two of them.  Peter found it hard to hide his excitement as he joyfully poked at the food on his plate while he chewed.  However, Peter did wish that he had been a little more tactful with asking Wade to share his secret with him rather then basically forcing him into it.

"So pre-tell how long have you been living in this - um - lovely home?" Peter said looking around at the apartment and trying to make some small talk.

"Well depends on what you mean by living here? Because if you mean the place where I store my weapons and fun toys then for six years. But if you mean rest my little head here on my astonishingly comfortable pull out couch then maybe two years." Wade said as he shoveled another big fork full of food under his mask.

"What were you on the move a lot or something?" Peter said.

"'Something' I guess you could say,"  Wade shrugged. "Before I met you I was a gun for hire and was tossed around from state to state, country to country, dimension to dimension un-aliving all and every poor joe that found his name mentioned in my email." Wade said, pretending to reminisce about his past mercenary days, "Yep, I had quite the business.  My inbox was never empty and my bank account was always full. Then I met you and that all went, poof! Well minus the bank account thingy. I would still make a very good sugar daddy!" Wade winked causing Peter to roll his eyes. Peter didn't know why but he felt a little bit bad hearing that he had caused Wade to basically settle down.

"I'm not sure if I should apologize for that or not? Really unclear if your happy or upset with the fact that I made you basically settle down," Peter laughed awkwardly.

"Oh Petey, I am so much happier now. Before I was free from all rules and law books, I could go anywhere, do anything, be anything and I mean anything! I didn't need to worry about how I handled baddies and I certainly didn't have to worry about if I was un-aliving people on accident. Who knew that a sword directly through the heart killed people? Not me, that's for sure." Wade rambled before catching a glimpse of Peter who must have been making an annoyed face because he switched things up real quick. "But of course all the people I worked for were a pack of assholes. Now I don't have overly confident aggressive assholes with little man syndrome as my boss! You have no idea how annoying the men that hired me can be! I am way happier kicking bad guy ass with you and the wannabe x-men over at the tower."

"You have an interesting way of proving to me you're not settling." Peter raised one eyebrow at Wade and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Aw come on Pete, you know I am so much happier batting for the other side!" Wade leaned slightly across the table tilting his head to appear cute but Peter responded with turning his head away from him like a pouting child.

"Sounds to me like you preferred playing cops and robbers with us." Peter huffed out.

"Correction, I liked playing hard to get with you, Pete." Wade smiled still leaning across the table trying to look Peter in the eye. Ugh, don't play with my emotions, Wade. Peter glanced over at Wade before looking back at the wall his head still turned away from him. Slouching back into his chair Wade let out a sigh tapping his finger on the table before scooting forward into his chair excitedly again. "No matter how much fun the old days were Peter I would give all that up a hundred times over just to spend another day by your side."

Peter's head snapped back towards Wade instinctively, his face flushed as he felt his heartbeat out of his chest, eyes wide.

"Ha, got you to look at me!" Wade said with a warm laugh as he looked Peter in the eyes intently.
