Mario, Luigi And Yoshi were heading home from celebrating the brothers' birthday. They were 3 of the 4 members of what they call themselves 'the boys', the other being Toad.
"Well Yosh, this was fun", Luigi smiled. "How come Toad didn't show up?"
"That is strange, knowing him," Mario added.
"He's a bit annoyed at me right now," Yoshi admitted. "We made a deal: I take you guys out today, he does tomorrow. How bout we head home now?"
At the Mario Bros' house, the three had arrived. Mario opened the door to reveal...
"SURPRISE!!!!"
It turned out that Yoshi and Toad were planning a surprise party for the Mario Brothers. Helping them was Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, Bowser, Wario, Waluigi, Birdo and Koopa. There was a table set up with a selection of alcoholic beverages and a banner reading: Happy Birthday Lads!
"My good god," Luigi said, almost speechless. "This is amazing! Thanks everyone!"
"Oh it's nothing man," Toad replied. "The boys do anything for each other. Now come on, let's play some games!!!"
After a while of partying, 'the boys' were sitting together, all four of them having drank quite a bit of alcohol.
"I *hiccup* love you *hiccup* guys," Yoshi blurted out. "You're the *hiccup* best!"
"Dude," Toad responded. "I think you've had a bit much."
The four laughed and joked until something terrible happened.
"DAISY'S DEAD!!!" Waluigi yelled as he discovered the body on the upstairs hallway. Her dress was heavily bloodstained and she looked to have stab punctures across her torso. Mario immediately rushed up the stairs to the body. He inspected it and came to a realisation.
"This, is murder," he announced.
Alright my peeps, this is it for the first chapter. I hope you lot enjoyed it. I would like to clear a couple things up.
1: The killer or killers will not be hinted in author's notes. There will be subtle nods as to who in the chapters. They have a motive.
2: I'm not sure if people outside the UK understand some of the slang Yoshi says like 'lad'. I'm British and it's kinda like the equivalent of 'dude' over here. Also, Yoshi is British in this story.
