One Week Later

Oh my gosh the last week has been amazing working with Echo he has gotten so good. Gus had been working so well with Echo and I. I am so proud of how far we have come in one short week. Even Chad has come to the stable to help us do our training lately. I was super surprised because he does not even ride horses, he is not very interested in animals. To be honest I think hes just here to make sure Gus does not make a move on me or something.

I'm pretty sure he would never do that to his best friend but you never know what will happen in the future. Oh yeah I forgot about Hailey and Carl. They have not started planning the wedding yet because it will be at least a year before they get married. They want to finish their first year of college before getting married.

I thought Chad was going to propose to me soon too, but he has been getting a little more distant recently. He has started working more lately, I think he is trying to earn money to pay for his apartment he's sharing with Carl for college. But i'm probably wrong I just don't know what is going to happen between us. I hope I don't lose him.

Well I just got done with my shower I got dressed into my nicest pair of jeans and a light blue and black button up flannel shirt, with a pair of riding boots. I put my hair into a high ponytail. I quickly curled the tips. I got in my jeep and drove to the stable where I was meeting Gus. Today was our last day to practice for now. I was thinking about asking Gus if we could enter into a jumping, dressage, and cross country show.

When I got there Gus was waiting for me in the riding pen with Echo. I walked over and thank him for tacking Echo up for me. I jumped up onto him and began to ride him around the edge of the pen.

“I think we are going to practice some dressage today because we need to improve on that skill area.” Gus spoke to me.

“Okay you know I was thinking there is an open jumping, dressage, and cross country show on Monday which is two short days away. I was wondering if you would want to enter in it.”I asked

Gus replied with, “Sure I think that would be awesome where is it?”

“Its at the Juneau rodeo club it is for beginners so we would fit right in.”

“ Great lets just get through practice then we can talk about it later.”

“Sure that sounds awesome.”

Two Hours Later

When practice was over Gus and I decided that Echo and I would enter into the show. Gus made some phone calls and printed out some entry forms they emailed to him. I help fill them out there was an entry fee which was only $25. I payed it because Gus has payed for Echo I totally owe him.

After practice Gus and I decided to shampoo Echo. I brought him to the horse shower room. Gus grabbed the shampoo and squeezed it onto the sponge. He got it wet and started rubbing it along Echo’s back. Echo got so excited I found that he loves to get washed up. He loves the sponges.

We finished rinsing him off and brushed his coat down and his mane and tail. By the time we got done with Echo it was 4:00 pm so Gus and I decided to go get some dinner, as friends of course.

Gus had his parents drop him off so he didn't have his car. So I got in my jeep and he jumped in the passenger seat. Gus started the conversation.

I asked, “ Where do you want to eat?”

Gus replied, “ Maybe um……. Green Mill?”

“Sure I heard they have really good pizza.”

“Yeah me too! I can’t wait to eat now.”

Soon enough we pulled into the parking lot of Green Mill. Gus jumped out and ran over to my side to open the door being the gentleman he is. We walked up to the doors and he held it open for me. I thanked him and he stepped in behind me. We walked inside and got a table right away.

A/N: I noticed by chapters are a little short so I am going to try and write them longer starting now.
