Life Goes On

Chapter Eight

We decided to go back to Carl’s house because we had to bring him there anyway so we decided to just hang out for a while. Eventually Hailey fell asleep on the couch. She had told me on the way to the airport that she could not sleep the night before because she was so excited to see Carl.

Then Carl asked “Chad, Kylie can I talk to you it is really important?” Chad and I look at eachother like what is this about?

Chad replies “Sure about what?”

“Come in here” Carl says pointing to the kitchen.

“Okay” I reply

As soon as we stepped into the kitchen Carl turned to us and said “You have to promise to me you will never tell another soul about this.” Chad and I just nodded and crossed our hearts. “Okay I am going to propose to Hailey. Kylie I really need your help because I don’t know how to do it so that she will love it.”

“Just the other day she was telling me about her dream proposal…………..” Sorry I can’t tell you guys we want it to stay a surprise.

“Wow that sounds amazing!” Carl replied “Are you sure she will absolutely love it?”

“Yes I know her better than she knows herself. When are you going to do it?” I asked

“ Well we graduate in one week so I figured maybe the day after graduation.”

“That sounds great!”

One week later

Hailey, Carl, Chad and I had one big graduation party at the public park we had all of our friends and family come to one ginormous party. We had so much fun we danced on the dance floor until 2 A.M. when my parents told us we should go home. Oh I forgot Hailey, Carl and Chad got to meet my parents for the first time.

It was all good how it went and we all had a great time. Our parents had payed for two hotel rooms one for Hailey and I to share, and one for Carl and Chad to share. So we went to our rooms and Hailey and I fell asleep right as our heads hit the pillow.

The next morning I woke up before Hailey did. The night before Carl, Chad and I had decided to regroup in the morning to go over the plans again. I walked down the hall to Carl and Chad’s room. As soon as I knocked on the door it flew open and there stood Carl with no shirt on.

“I’m sorry did I wake you?” I asked

“Oh no I always lounge around in my pajamas when I wake up.”

“Okay I just thought we should do our regrouping while Hailey's still asleep.”

“Okay come on in.”

“Thanks.” I walked into the room to find Chad still asleep. So I layed down on the bed next to him. I kissed his lips softly and he opened his eyes and said

“Good morning Sweetie.”

“Good morning.” I said back We all talked over the plans for what was going to happen that night. We had them perfectly worked out. When we got done I headed back to my room to find Hailey still fast asleep. Good she didn’t know I even left.

I layed back down in bed and grabbed my phone. I texted Chad.

“She is still asleep, she didn’t even know I was gone.”

“Good because we want to keep it as much of a surprise as we can.”

“Yeah I think I’m going to go back to sleep.”

“Okay talk to you later”
