Audrey had spelled almost the entire kingdom, and it was up to the VK's and a few of the kids from Auradon. Ben had asked Doug to go with Jane to find her mom, Fairy Godmother, and Evie's heart dropped. Doug wasn't one you'd call "athletic," but he definitely worked out, kept in shape. It was decided that Gil, Gaston's son, would accompany both of them and everyone took a deep breath. It's not like no one trusted Doug to get the job done, they just didn't trust the dangers that he may encounter while out.
Jane said goodbye to Carlos, Gil said his goodbyes with his crew, and Evie walked over to Doug, tears briefly stinging her eyes. He scooped her up into the air and spun her around, causing a fleet of giggles from his beautiful girlfriend. He finally set her down, and took her face into his hands.
"I will be right back, princess. Now you stay safe for me out there, okay? No turning into stone or anything," Doug said as Evie gently kissed his lips.
"Same goes for you lover boy. Please, be safe. Let Gil take care of the fighting if it comes to that, okay?" She replied.
Doug looked down at his girlfriend, slightly laughing, and gave her the tightest squeeze he could possibly give her. "I promise."
As Doug let go, Evie grabbed onto his hand. Jane and Gil had already started on the journey. Doug quickly kissed Evie's hand and let go as he ran off after them. Almost out of sight, Evie shouts, "I love you, lover boy!" To which Doug yells back, "I love you more, princess!"
Mal beams as she shoots Evie the 'we need to talk" look. Evie starts to blush uncontrollably as Mal grabs her arm and both girls start to giggle.
