Archie
Two weeks after the whole incident it was almost the holidays! Archie got dressed in his black sweater and made himself a coffee and buttered toast since his parents were still MIA. He crunched on his toast and got a text from Veronica to meet him at the Pembroke. He sighed but not with frustration but with relief that everything was back to normal since ever since he forgave her she showered him with pre Christmas gifts and money. He didn't want money he just wanted to go back to the way things were. He hadn't seen Betty nor Jughead ever since it happened or he hadn't heard from them either. He figured they were just together on some romantic Christmas holiday.
Betty
"Here you are Elizabeth." Alice said giving her a tray of tomato soup and a white bread roll. Alice had come back from her trip once she heard Betty was extremely ill and Polly couldn't care for her. "Thanks mom." Betty croaked taking the tray. Betty stirred her soup feeling shivery. "Quit messing with it and eat it Elizabeth!" Alice snapped. Betty sipped her soup and nibbled her white roll but her mom made this soup amazingly so she had more spoonfuls and more bites of the roll. "That's better." Alice exclaimed relieved her daughter could eat however an hour later Betty couldn't keep it in her stomach. She's been ill for the past couple days and trapped at home. She had a very high temperature and had a cold and to top all of that off she had one of her worst periods. Her throat was very dry despite having a bowl of soup and drinking gallons of water. She sat on the bathroom floor shivering. "Elizabeth get off the bathroom floor it will make it worse!" Alice said trying to pull her up. Betty's head was throbbing. It felt as if one of Archie's boxing match was happening right inside her head. It felt awful. "Elizabeth get up!" Alice shouted. Betty didn't have the strength to get up she wanted to lie on the bathroom floor since it made her feel a little colder. Alice couldn't lift her up so she called Polly for backup to haul Betty back to her room. "God what have you been eating?" Polly jokingly said but the thought of food made Betty feel queasy.
Jughead:
Jughead hopped on his motorcycle to drive to school. "Jug!" Archie said running to him. "Hey man." He replied taking off his headphones. "Where have you been?" Archie asked while the two of them walked down the lounge since the first two periods was dropped due to a teacher conference. "Serpent stuff." Jughead said keeping in mind Archie wants nothing to do with the serpents. "Oh..with Betty?" Archie said raising his eyebrows. "No I thought Betty was with Veronica?"Jughead said. "No because Veronica was with me for the past two weeks during school." Archie said. "Oh we will go check up on her later." Jughead said opening his locker. "Or now..we don't have class until 11:45?" Archie said. Jughead nodded. "Ok let's go." He said. The two headed out of the school to find Veronica strutting in.
Veronica
"Hey lover!" She exclaimed tip toeing to reach him for a kiss. "Hey Ronnie." Archie said kissing her keeping it sweet and simple. "Ugh you two get a room hurry up and get on!" Jughead yelled from the bottom of the stairs. "Where are you going Archiekins?" She said. Jughead looked at her irritated, although he forgave her, he always found her a bit irritating. "To Betty's." Archie said. "Why?" She asked. "Because she's been at home for two weeks so we just wanted to check up on her!" Jughead said starting up the motorbike. "Ew I'm not getting on that." Veronica said screwing her face. "No one asked you to come Queen Lodge." Jughead said rolling his eyes. "She has a point Jug it's too dangerous without helmets." Archie shrugged. "Come on I'll drive!" Veronica said happily getting into her car. "Ok let's race!" Jughead said smugly. "Ok!" Veronica said rolling down her windows. Jughead winced when Archie got into the car. "Relax I'm clean I've stopped drinking!" Veronica yelled starting up the car. The two sped to Betty's house as fast as they can.
Betty:
"Mom!" Betty croaked again. "Yes." Alice said turning over a page of her magazine. "I know I'm ill but privacy please."
"Elizabeth I'm trying to look out for you."
"Well can you at least get the door?" Betty said smiling as she was relieved the doorbell saved her. "Polly honey get the door!" Alice yelled whilst Betty covered her ears. "Yeah that's a bit too quiet mom(!)" Betty sarcastically exclaimed. "Betty has some guests mom." Polly muttered looking behind her. It was the other three. "Hey girl!" Veronica squealed entering the room. Betty smiled and coughed. Veronica stepped back. "With all due respect can you please leave Betty is very ill so I don't want you kids to catch her germs." Alice sighed shutting her magazine and getting up from Betty's arm chair. "Good idea." Veronica tittered as she had a fear of illness but the other two objected. "Mrs Cooper we've known Betty forever and we have seen her sick can we just care for her?" Jughead protested sitting on the edge of her bed. "My mom is right for once guys I don't want you guys getting ill!" Betty coughed clutching her throat. Jughead leaned in and kissed her. "There now there's nothing to worry about." He smiled looking at Alice and Betty. "And you Archibald?" Alice scoffed. "I just wanted to check up on her ma'am I know you have a business trip and you cancelled. How about we take care of her whilst you go." He answered. "Well knowing you teenagers you will probably throw a party." Alice scolded folding her arms. "I looked after my dad after he was shot, I think I can take care of Betty." Archie replied. Alice stayed silent. "Well I do have to go back to finish more work in New York.." Alice continued. "Well go she will be fine." Jughead said getting up. "Have you guys got any masks?" Veronica asked standing as far away from the bed as possible. They all looked at her. "Too soon?" She giggled feebly. "Mom go I'll be fine." Betty croaked again. "Ugh you kids." Alice said but went to pack up her stuff and leave. "So who wants to take night shifts." Veronica asked. "I can't Serpents and stuff but Archie lives the closest so he can take night shifts I'll take afternoon and evening shifts and Veronica will take morning shifts." Jughead ordered. All three of them nodded. "So I'm taking first shift.." Veronica said sitting on the arm chair. "Ok we gotta get to school. I'll see you later B." Jughead said kissing her. Archie stood awkwardly. "Don't even think about it Archiekins." Veronica snarled jokingly. They all fell about laughing. "Get well soon Betty." Archie chuckled ruffling her hair. "Archie!" Betty squealed laughing even more. He said his goodbyes to Veronica and left the room. "This will be fun.." Veronica said sitting down on the arm chair. Oh yes it will...
