Veronica POV
"Oh my god!" I gasped putting on my clothes and packing up our stuff. "I'm calling my driver he's staying at another hotel he will get us to Riverdale soon!" I zipped up my skirt and buttoned my blouse. We ran out waiting for my driver to come. As soon as we saw him we hopped in the cab and sped away from New York. We've only been there for three days and already things in Riverdale are falling apart.Jughead POV
I can't believe I was going to be a father in two hours. I was giddy not with excitement but with nerves. I didn't want to walk out on the child I wanted to see him or her as often as I can. My heart beat when I saw the welcome to Riverdale sign. Veronica squeezes my hand. It was clammy with sweat. It felt like forever when the Riverdale driver drove us the the hospital. I ran in to find Betty, Archie, Polly and Alice sitting next to Betty on her bed. "Are you having contractions yet?! Veronica panted. "Not yet it was a false alarm." She clutched her stomach. "So your telling me we ran here like monkeys to see you giving birth and it was a alarm?!" Veronica sighed. "Ezra and Aria are on their way from Rosewood it will take them around an hour to get here." Betty changed the subject. We all nodded. Suddenly we heard the door burst open and Cheryl strut in. Typical Cheryl Blossom. "We came as soon as we heard the news cousin!" Cheryl sashayed in the hospital room. "Um ok?" She said. Cheryl lay all her chocolates and flowers with a thousand gender balloons. "Thanks." Betty smiled. The flowers smelt so sickly. "How long are we going to be here for?" Toni asked shuddering. "Well my first time in labour it look 24 hours." Alice said. "How do you still remember that wasn't that back in the Stone Age." Cheryl joked. We all laughed but Betty winced in pain. "Hey B are you ok?" Archie asked her holding her hand. She nodded.Archie POV
"We're here!" The couple bursted in. "Thank god." Alice said. "Betty when you're pushing its best to hold someone's hand." Polly advised. Betty turned my head to me and I squeezed it to comfort her. "Sorted." Veronica mumbled. It was 9:00pm and everyone began getting tired. "So how long have you and Ezra been together for?" Veronica asked. "Um...9 years on and off." She answered. Wow 9 years is a lot. After finding more about their relationship Betty began making weird breathless noises as if she was coming back from a run. "It's coming." Polly said calmly. A midwife came in with a bunch of nurses since the baby was premature. The midwife instructed Betty to keep calm. I held her hand. She was very soft to begin with but a couple minutes later things began getting very intense. "She's having contractions." The nurse informed us. "I. Think. I'm. Ready." Betty said in between breaths. Her grip was very strong and the midwife kept yelling push. After every push Betty screamed in pain. "Your doing really well B keep pushing!" I reassured her. "Well done cousin!" Cheryl shrieked . "I'm gonna be sick." Toni exaggerated. "Push Betty!" The midwife continued. After one final and painful push a little body slipped out. Betty began panting. As they cut the cord Betty began to cry. The nurses rushed out with the baby and the midwife explained the baby weighed no less than a bag of sugar. "We have to keep it in an incubator for a couple days since it's 2 months early but it's nothing we haven't handled before." She explained smiling. "I guess you two are the parents now!" Cheryl looked at Aria and Ezra. "Yeah I guess we are." Ezra sighed moping his brow. "Well you can always visit the baby whenever you want and you should come to Rosewood!" Aria said. "I think it's only fair Betty or Jughead should choose the name." Alice said. Everyone nodded in agreement. "Name it Barchie." Veronica joked. "Um I think I'll call the baby...James?" Betty said. "Ok James Fitz that sounds great." Ezra leaned in to give Betty a hug as well as Aria. I wanted to save my embrace for later. The nurses came back and told us that the baby was healthy, it just needs to stay in the incubator. "We are adopting the baby." Aria said to the nurse. "Oh! Ok perfect we just need your details to put on the birth certificate." The nurse said. Whilst they were explaining their details Veronica, Jughead, Cheryl and Toni headed to the café for a coffee as well as Polly and Alice leaving me and Betty alone. "You did it B!" I whispered in her ear. "I couldn't have done it without you Arch." She whispered back. I wiped her tears with my thumb. "Don't cry." I smiled. "Also I have a surprise for you when you recover." I continued.Betty POV
What was the surprise. I hate surprises unless I'm giving the surprise. I smiled at him but I savoured a kiss at the same time. He sat back in his seat holding my hand. What could it be? After the gang came back. The nurse told me to stay here overnight and it would take a couple weeks to get back to normal. After her little speech I dosed off to sleep. I was so tired. As I drifted off I could still feel Archie's hand squeezing mine. I woke up in the middle of the night and saw Archie asleep leaning on my shoulder and my mom and Polly on the other side of the room. I checked to see if he was asleep and gently kissed his cheek. "I'm not worthy of you Archie Andrews." I whispered whilst stroking his red locks. I really hoped he was asleep. I snuggled back into my position and fell asleep again. Next thing I knew it was noon. "Morning..or afternoon guys!" Everyone came into the room. It was only me who was asleep. "What time is it?" I groaned. "12:50." Veronica read her wristwatch. "You're being discharged at 3:00." My mom informed me. I nodded still in pain. I was still curious about the surprise Archie said. So curious in fact I asked Veronica when everyone was out of earshot. "V when you and Archie dated has he ever planned a surprise for you?" I asked. "Why are you two dating?" She squealed. I shook my head. "Well yeah he did." She said. "What was it?" I answered. "His first boxing match." She winced. I didn't mind watching Archie box but I didn't like him being in pain. I nodded and smiled. After a couple of hours in the hospital when I was being discharged Archie helped me to the car. I still had the baby bump but that was going to go in a matter of weeks the nurse told me. So I guess I can live life as a senior from now on.
