(Six Years Old)

"Hey why are you crying?"

Seto quickly lifted his head from his knees in surprise when he saw another boy his age crouching down in front of him with a mixture of confused and concern expression.

Sniffing a bit, Seto reached up to wipe away his tears but stopped when the boy reached out and did it for him. "Why are you crying?" the boy asked once again as he pressed his palm against Seto's left cheek after wiping all of his tears.

"J-Just some kids a-are being mean to me" Seto whimpered out, sniffing a bit more while the boy frown a bit. "Why? I think you're a nice person" the boy said causing Seto to blush a bit. "T-They say that I-I'm weak and a l-loner" he softly said while pulling his knees closer as he remembered how hurt he felt when he heard the others say.

Frowning more, the boy moved closer, "Well, I don't think you're weak, your magic is very strong" the boy said with a small grin catching Seto's attention, "H-How did you know?" he asked the boy, slightly scared since he had never told the other boy. "Mm? Because I could see it" the boy said and, catching Seto by complete surprise, spread his small wings, "I may be a baby but I can still sense the magic and your magic is very strong" the boy explained with a grin as Seto was staring at the other's wings, mesmerized by the coloring.

The inside of the boy's wings was a deep gold color with black outlines and he could see small horns on the tip of the wings even though they looked small on the boy.

Giggling a bit, the boy soon flopped on his butt and moved closer while pulling Seto close and started hugging him.

"Forget about those meanies and you're not a loner" the boy started to tell him, "I'll be your friend!" he stated, surprising Seto.

Feeling his cheeks heat up, Seto started to grin and slowly hugged him back, "P-Promise?" he shyly asked which the boy happily nodded, "Yeah!" he soon pulled away, grinning at Seto, "I promise" he said before giggling more. "My name is Brice!" the boy happily introduced himself. "M-My name is Seto" Seto introduced himself back as he smiles back.

What they didn't know that by making that promise, they created a life-bond connecting the magic user and the dragon together and nothing will break it.
