Holland did a superb job. He managed to beat up Lynn so badly, and the best thing was that he wasn’t caught. I didn’t even have to scrap some of the video feed to the garbage, it just made life so much easier. At this exact moment Lynn was sleeping soundly at the hospital in the ICU, unconscious, and almost beaten into a coma. Life was great.

Walking into the hospital again, I couldn’t hide the grin from my face, but I was forced to remember that I still had to keep up with the stupid facade.

“I am here to see Siara Dupont,” I sent a small smile to the nurse, who most likely did not care who I was. The feeling was mutual, anyways. “I am her cousin.”

“I’m sorry, no visitors allowed.” She sent me a sympathetic smile and I allowed myself to frown, when I really wanted to form my face into a tantalizing snarl and give her a slap on the face.

“I am related to her, by law you should allow me to go see her,” I said, clenching my jaw. I forced myself to say the words as nicely and calmly as possible when all I wanted to do was to drag her by the hair onto this pristine white floor until she bled. It was a hauntingly beautiful sight to see. “Please, you must see where I am coming from–”

“I do, hun, trust me. Hundreds of people come to me with the same problem and the exact same excuse,” She rudely interrupted. I inhaled a whiff of air, trying to control my whirlwind of emotions. I hated it when people interrupted me. “The thing is, I don’t make the rules. I just reinforce them. This patient specifically made it clear that no visitors were allowed except for two people.”

“Who are those two people?” I asked, feeling my curiosity peak.

“Jacob Jobs and Lisa Dupont,” She responded dryly.

“I am Jacob Jobs,” I said slowly, lying straight through my teeth. She gave me a wary look but told me the room number nonetheless, which made me grin. These idiots were so naive and so easily fooled. What she didn’t know was that I was planning to kidnap Lynn. It would be difficult, considering she was on one of the higher floors of the building and there was a number of security guards guarding each floor. Of course, I considered all of this when I so brilliantly thought of my plan to kidnap her in the first place, so I knew which guards went on break, which fell asleep, and which played on their phones. I loved modern day technology, it was such a distraction to idiotic fools these days.

When I reached the room I did a double take and scanned the room for any potential threats. I saw two guards chatting up a storm. They were most likely going on break in a few minutes. I could tell from their facial expressions–I made it a point to memorize all of their faces, so I instantly knew that I was right.

I walked slowly, pretending to check the room numbers when in reality I was waiting for them to leave. I only had ten minutes, tops, to kidnap Lynn without anybody suspecting. It would be extremely risky, the way I was planning it, but I was tired of waiting. It would take forever for Lynn to heal and I wanted all of this to end. It needed to end, or else I would drive myself crazy acting like an innocent person when I definitely wasn’t.

Now. The guards finally moved from their spot when their watches beeped simultaneously and trotted towards the elevator.  I grinned and slipped into Lynn’s room when none of the other doctors or nurses were watching. and dropped the duffle bag I was carrying in my hand on the floor. She was sound asleep, expression at peace, but she was brutally injured and it was a marvelous sight.

Her eyes were clenched and shut tightly, swollen and red. Her nose was covered with gauze and seemed slightly tilted from my line of view. Her lips were dry and chapped, and a bit swollen. I couldn’t assess the rest of her injuries but her face was covered with a number of bruises and it was beautiful.

I snapped out my daze and locked the door silently, not taking any chances. For extra precaution I even placed a chair under the knob. I then went to work, harshly opening the duffle bag. I took out the clothing Lynn was supposed to wear and the gun, tucking it in my front pocket. I even brought a taser just in case, but that was if I ran out of bullets. I don’t think I would be using gun in the first place, but I made sure to attach a silencer to it so it wouldn’t disturb anybody or raise the suspicion of something happening.

I took a breath and marched towards Lynn, but before I could do anything, the door was slammed open. I immediately dropped the clothing in my hands and took out the gun in my front pocket. I cocked it and aimed at the person who walked in. It was Jacob. I cursed in my head and snarled, shooting once, twice, three times, at his chest. Before he could even take a shot with his own gun, he dropped to the floor with a thud and I cursed. I cursed again. I knew without a doubt that Jacob saw my face. I cursed a bit more when I saw that blood was pooling around him. I was sure people would be coming in seconds, so I acted quickly.

I ripped open the duffle bag and slid the black mask over my face, and ran out as fast as I could. No one was coming, yet, but I still did not take any risks. I ran to the stairs and thundered down them, leaving through the emergency exit. I cursed and ripped the black mask off my face and shoved it back in the duffle bag while I ran to the parking lot, knowing I just made things a lot worse.

I was sure the cameras caught me, and there was the lady in the front desk and a few doctors and nurses that saw me. The footage needed to vanish and they all needed to die.

I shouldn’t have done something so risky.
