The next morning, Jimin dejectedly enters the main room, and slumps into the seat.
"I still can't believe she wouldn't listen to me yesterday. She went to the meeting anyways. Why doesn't she listen to me like how she listens to Namjoon hyung or Yoongi hyung?" He whines as he rests his head on Jungkook's shoulder.
The Maeknae is too heavily absorbed into his game to notice, or care about Jimin's romantic woes. This is their last fully free day before the concerts begin again the next evening, so all the boys are relaxing, and are simply enjoying each others company.
"Jimin, you haven't stopped whining since last night. Frankly, I'm getting tired of it. Have you ever considered the fact that she doesn't, and will never reciprocate your feelings, or are you that consumed about what you want from her?" Hoseok gazes across the room at the struggling Romeo.
"I know she doesn't feel that way right now, but I'm doing everything I can to win her over. She's so stubborn hyung, but I know she'll eventually cave. How does the American saying go? 'Never say never.' After all, one simply can't resist a face like mine forever." Jimin grinned cheekily.
"Yah! I'm the only one with the irresistible face around here, stay in your lane!" Jin playfully shoves the younger before resuming a serious tone.
"She has her right to make such decisions for herself. You can't force her into loving you. You have to respect her choice." Namjoon sighs.
"Hyung is right. In fact, she doesn't have to resist you forever, she just has to put up with your antics for eight more days until she will undoubtedly return home, and never will have to deal with you ever again. Just move on Jimin, it would make things easier for everyone. How does the song go? 'If you love her, let her go.'" Hoseok hums as he keeps his eyes on his phone.
All the boys at this point realize how superficial Jimin's infatuation is with Melody. Hoseok, being the most familiar knew if he kept casually chastising the younger eventually he would come around, and change his mind. After quietly observing the boy to his pleasure, he can already tell his words are beginning to have an effect on the younger.
'Things are falling into place perfectly. I just hope Yoongi doesn't do something that throws the plan off track. It's too late to second guess things now.' Hoseok thinks to himself while looking over to Yoongi who, while sitting on the couch by himself, keeps nodding off during the conversation.
'Well, at least he is getting a better grip of his jealousy.' He sighs as Yoongi is far too drowsy to care what is being said at the moment.
Instead of watching a movie with the others after Melody left, Yoongi threw himself into his music. Trying the best way he knew how, to force himself not to worry over her. He saw with his own eyes what those 'fans' had done to her. He heard her scream, he even wiped away her tears as he held her fragile form in his arms. He knew that one could not simply move on after what happened yesterday. He watched what happened to Jungkook after his incident. Despite his best efforts, the poor Maknae has never been the same since. Yoongi hated knowing that Melody would probably go through the same emotional process as the youngest had. He wanted to be there for her through it all so she wouldn't be alone. At the same time he knew she needed time to herself to heal just as he knew the process would be much longer than the eight days she had remaining with them. So, to give her space he buried himself in his music late into the night. That is until Hoseok, who sleepily stumbled into the room in search of water forced him to stop as it was already five in the morning. Now the poor sleep deprived boy is having issues staying awake.
