"I announced you Queen Mio Todoroki"

Due to the passing of Queen Lumina and King Shoto plus the banishment of princess Ayano, Mio has taken role of Queen despite her young age and lack of experience. The people didn't care. Ever since she was little she would go out to the poorer parts of the kingdom and help with charity and get to know the people so no one cared she was young, everyone loved her. The rain of king Shoto Todoroki was peaceful and needed after his father's rule and Mio wanted to keep the peace unlike her sister who always said her goal would be to expand.

The young royal stood on the stone platform with the silver crown on her head and smiled to her people who came to see the coronation. The crowd cheered but two voices stood out, looking up she could see her two best friends sitting on the roof of the horse stable in the courtyard. The taller of the two was Toda Iida, he was a squire in training and the son of the head of the royal guard. The other was Hiro Midoriya, he lived on a large farm just outside of the walls with his Father and Grandmother, despite only being a farm boy he had a small amount of Mage magic which he had inherited from his mother, however we could not yet control it.

Mio flopped on the bed, letting out a big sigh after undoing her corset. The branches of the tree outside started to rustle. She giggled and opened the door letting her two friends in after they had climbed the tree.
"You do know you can just knock on the front gates now."
"Yeah but we have been climbing that tree to visit you for sixteen years and we just don't feel like stopping now" Toda said sarcastically adjusting his glasses as Hiro nodded in agreement.
"So 'your majesty' how are you feeling?" The brunette asked. He got a long sigh as a response.
"Touya has throwing a party for me tonight and inviting all the Lords and Ladies from across the land so I could find a suitor". They sat in silence for a minute. Touya was just doing what he thought was right, however he was not aware of the crush his cousin had on the magical farm boy. Hiro's blood boiled with jealousy and clenched his fist.
"Umm... well to celebrate your coronation, tomorrow let's go to the bar and get a drink" Toda announced loudly to break the awkward atmosphere.
"Yeah sounds good".

People started to arrive for the party while Mio was still putting on her dress. This dress was special, it was given to her by the late queen and it was beautiful. The dress was a dark blue with silver highlights and sleeves, the sleeves were lined with sky blue sequin and the skirt was made out of the finest silk which seemed to float as she walked down the hall.
"You ready?" Touya asked getting ready to open the ball room door. Mio nodded and was hit with the bright lights and loud music from the orchestra, the guests applauded as she graciously walked down the stairs to join the crowd.

She didn't feel like dancing but she had to.
"Your Grace, may I introduce Lady Ayuko and Princess Ho..."
"Enough with the formalities, she knows who I am goddamnit!" An angry blonde snapped at Touya, who was only doing his job...
"Homura, it's been a while hasn't it?" Mio smiled at her old friend. The two knew each other as children but were forbidden to see each other after some territorial conflict between the two kingdoms. Lord Eijiro had been asking King Katsuki for years to let them see each other again and now that the tension between the kingdoms was over, he had allowed her to go. Mio's face contorted into a frown as she realised the goal of the event again.
"Please don't tell me your here to compete for my hand?"
"Eww no, it's a tradition that we dance, remember, it's like to signify the peace of our kingdoms or whatever." Homura mutter bitterly. She grabbed the queen's hand and walked into the center of the ball room as the next song started. They started dancing as everyone watched when Homura violently pulled Mio closer to whisper in her ear.
"Oi... listen carefully" Mio's heterochromic eyes flashed at the sudden harsh words.
"I heard a rumour yesterday that someone will come after you on your coronation, that's the real reason I came. So watch your back." The song stopped. Homura walked back to Lady Ayuko and left the room. Mio stood there in shock, not knowing if it were a joke or not.
