بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم

This is actually a promise we are making of not following our Nafs from now on. We are not even going to look at our Nafs. Ya Allah, Your command is a priority. We become ready for any command of Allah just like the way Ibrahim Alaihissalaam became ready.

There was a big Buzurg of the previous times, Hadhrat Rabii bin Haytha Rahmatullahi Alaih. On the Day of Qurbani when he would slaughter his goat, he would say to Allah;
Ya Allah, I am slaughtering the goat because this is Your command. If today, Your command is for me to slaughter myself, then I am ready to slaughter myself.

The Jazba is the spirit of Qurbani, sacrifice.
It is not only about sacrificing a goat because this is very easy, especially since we are getting the Faida, compared to sacrificing our Nafs. We are eating the meat as well prepared in various ways such as barbecue. We buy the goat with so much Showk.  The sacrifice of the Nafs and desire is the Asl. When the blood spills and flows, we should understand we are getting  freedom from our Nafs and desires. When the goat is dying taking its last breath, kicking its last kick, finally gives up its life; its Ruh comes out and dies., then imagine this is now my Nafs which has died. I have finally achieved freedom. The blood is a symbol of freedom from subservience and being chained to our Nafsani desires; any desire of the heart which goes against the command of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.
This is the spirit and reality of Qurbani.

Suratan, its form is Qurbani, but in reality, it is not Qurbani. It is only the slaughtering of the goat.

The sign we have sacrificed our Nafs is that we make Taubah from our sins. Then we make the promise; from now on whatever it takes, whatever obstacle I face, whatever consequences I have to face, I have to overcome them and follow whatever Allah is telling me to do and not to follow my Nafs.
This is the reality of Qurbani, which is slavery.

Hadhrat Maulana Jalaaluddin Rumi Rahinahullah said;
If you chain my legs with two hundred chains of Dunya and Nafs, I will break those chains and I will enter into one chain of the slavery of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. In the slavery of Allah, there is freedom, while in the slavery of the Nafs there is complete destruction.

Today, unfortunately, Dunya portrays slavery of the Nafs as freedom and this is part of the Fitnah of Dajjal. Dajjal shows us everything opposite.

In the Hadith it comes;
Dajjal will show you water, but it will be fire. When he will show you fire, it will be water.
The world portrays to us, fulfilling your Nafsani desires as freedom and liberation. That is why you have the statue of liberty. There is much more behind the statue of liberty than just a statue. Around the legs of the statue is a broken chain to show she has finally broken the chains of Allah.  On the crown are the words; liberty, fraternity and equality. The statue is holding a torch of fire high. The statue is to depict; we have freed ourselves from Deen and have gone into the slavery of fire of iblees. They say they have broken the chains of Shariat, but in reality, it is a slavery of the Nafs.

To go into the slavery of Allah is the freedom from all other types of slavery. Regarding the Nafsani desires, there is one Hadith of Baihaqi. This is an Ajeeb Riwaayat which should make us think and ponder. Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is talking about Mulhika.
