The Love of Dunya is the Root of all Evil*

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم

Hadhrat Musa Alaihissalaam was told by Allah to go towards the woman. He went towards her. Allah said; this is the Dunya attracting people and calling towards it.
A person is going to come to that woman in his desire to know how beautiful she is going to be because her hand is so beautiful.  

Then Allah said; oh Musa, open the Niqaab of this woman.
A person now wants to open the Niqaab; Niqaab opening ceremony.

Our Ustadh told us a story.
He had a friend who was not very much in Deen. He was in his youth and had a lot of Shahwat, etc. Once he was driving and he saw a lady driving who was wearing a Niqaab. He began to follow her out of curiosity to know who she was. He thought maybe he could get acquainted with her.

He was following her for some time, and the lady became Pareshaan. Finally, she parked her car on the side of the road. The man became very happy and thought she was advancing towards him and she is also interested.
The man parked his car behind hers and went over to her. She pulled her car window down and he became even happier. Then she pulled up her Niqaab and he saw a seventy year old Dadimaa. She had broken teeth and told him; eh beta, what is wrong beta?
The man got a shock. He ran away and after that, he made Taubah. I will never do this again. 

She was an old Dadima. How will you know who it is behind the Niqaab? He thought she was a young girl. He got deceived.

It is the same deception in this case.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala told Musa Alaihissalaam to open her Niqaab.
Musa Alaihissalaam opened her Niqaab and a very ugly witch was in front of him with sunken red eyes, big nose, yellow crooked broken teeth and fluid dripping from her nose and eyes. She was such an ugly sight that he turned away.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala told him;
This is the reality of Dunya. When people get to the point of opening the Niqaab of Dunya, they finally see the reality of Dunya, but it is too late then.
Check what is in her other hand.
He went behind her and saw a knife in her other hand.
When people come this close to Dunya, they want to run away. As they turn their backs to flee, Dunya stabs them in the back. This is the end of that person.

This is the example of Dunya which Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala showed Hadhrat Musa Alaihissalaam.

Another incident of the intoxication of this world.
Hadhrat Maulana Rumi Rahimahullah has mentioned;
There was a prince who got married to a princess from another country. She was extremely beautiful. She was considered one of the most beautiful girls in the area. Three years passed but she did not conceive. The king, father of the prince became very worried. Kings are always worried about their Nasl, lineage continuing.

He approached his daughter in law and asked her the reason she was not yet pregnant although three years have passed of marriage.
The daughter in law replied; how am I going to become pregnant when from the first night till today, my husband has not come to me at night? He has not slept with me.

The king was shocked to hear this.
He consulted the Ulamaa and Buzurgs of the area and the doctors. They began to investigate to find out the cause.
Finally they gave him the answer; Sihr has been committed on your son. For this reason he has never gone to his wife even once.
The king asked; what type of Sihr is this?

A witch had performed Sihr on the prince so that her outer appearance changed before his eyes and appeared like a very beautiful young girl.
They found out, every night for the past three years, due to the Sihr, the prince had been going into the hut of the witch in the middle of the woods and spending the entire night with her. 
According to the prince his beautiful, the princess was like the ugly witch.

The king asked if there was any solution. The Ulamaa said; we are going to work on the solution, perform recitations and give medicine. Eventually the prince was cured. To find out if the prince had been really cure, they took him to the hut in the woods. They opened the door and the witch came out. When they told him; for the past three years you have been sleeping with this witch, he fell down unconscious. 

When he saw his wife, he started crying. He said; where did I waste those three years.
I wasted my three years in Sihr, sleeping with an ugly woman.

Hadhrat says;
This is the example of the intoxication of Dunya. The Dunya is like an ugly witch, but it has performed Sihr on our eyes so that today, we think this witch is a very beautiful woman.
While the beautiful woman of Aakhirat has become as if she is an ugly witch; we do not even want to go there.
