Day 2 part 4 ~ 22/08/19 ~ 12:15am onwards
I walked on to the cruise ahead of everyone else, eager to get us all a good seat. I sat at the front on the top deck, lying down and attempting to reserve 6 seats for the whole group. Lots of other people continued to try and seat where I was lying down, but I wouldn't budge, which meant I was getting a lot of dirty looks off other family's, who also wanted good seats.
Soon enough, my party came up and looked realised to see me. Apparently they thought I had gone missing, even though I had made it rather clear to them I was going to get seats, when I started to run through the crowds to get on first.
Tom took the seat to the right of me and then on the other side was the window. The cruise started to move, undocking from the side then gliding swiftly through the water. Me and Tom, just sat there taking in the sights, listening to Jodie and Hazel in the background talking about how good their Instagram feed would be after this trip.
It wasn't long before we started to redock up at the next stop, the arc de triomphe. We were getting off here, to get some photos, so once the boat stopped moving we all got up and went downstairs and headed towards the exit of the cruise.
It had become a lot sunnier in those five minutes when we were onboard the boat and it looked so much brighter here, especially with the sun reflecting off the water bank and shining in everyone around it's eyes, blinding people.
We had a short walk to the arc, in which I walked with Tom, talking about French and how much of it we could speak. Between the 2 of us, we worked out I could speak more fluently and knew more on a whole, but he was a better translator and was very good at reading it. Overall, we weren't at all good at it, only knowing things we had been taught throughout the years, that we had actually remembered. It turned out we both knew the lyrics to Frère Jacques, so for the rest of the trip to the arc de triomphe, we sang that as a duo, which really annoyed Jodie and Hazel, to the point where they started to scream at us to shut up. So we did the only reasonable thing in that situation, we sang louder.
