In which a girl moves to L.A. and becomes unlikely friends with a blue eyed boy.

"You didn't tell me that the show was the same week as your birthday!" Gabbie yelled over FaceTime as I put my AirPods in. "I really haven't told people when my birthday is." I sighed as I walked into a juice shop.
"Why not?!" She asked, "I had to look you up on famous birthdays." I laughed at her efforts and ordered my drink. "I'm serious Vinnie!" She continued, "you should have a birthday party!"
"It would be pretty cool." I trailed off. "The show is on a Wednesday." I started as I thought this through, "and my birthday is on Friday..do I just do my party on my actual birthday?"
"Of course!" She squealed, "You inviting the boys?" She asked and I shrugged. "I don't see why not. You guys can all stay at my place, I've got three empty bedrooms and two living rooms, there's more than enough space."
"Vinnie..all the boys would come. Are you sure that's okay?"
"Yes Gabbie. It's okay." I laughed and she started talking about something else. We talked for a few more hours and then she had to go.
"Hi um Vinnie?" A teenage girl asked. Her friend was standing behind her and they were both shaking and almost crying. "Yea sweetheart?" I said kindly and she squealed.
"You called me sweetheart!" She gushed and I stood up and hugged her. "You guys are adorable." I said and they giggled.
"Oh my goodness did you hear the boys new song?" The girl I wasn't hugging asked and I looked confused. "Which one?" I laughed as I pulled away from the hug.
The first girl pulled out her phone as the other one hugged me. She pulled up a song by Why Don't We called I Still Do. It started and I smiled as I heard Jonah's voice.
As it kept going I realized how long it's actually been. The chorus played through and I nodded my heard along to the song but my heart stopped as I heard his voice.
Stick to my word when I say I don't want you back, but what if I did? Don't hold it against me, cause you've got the upper hand now that I'm lonely, and I feel the past pulling my body to tell you I'm sorry.
"You like Daniel's part?" One of the girls asked, I chuckled as she raised her eyebrows at me. "Yea it's- it's great." I smiled as the song kept playing. It was so light and fun, it can't be about me.
I felt a pain in my chest as it ended. "Sooooo?" One of them asked. "Who do you think it's about!?" The other one squealed.
"You want my honest opinion?" I laughed and they nodded, "well I'm really not sure who but what I am sure of is whoever this is about probably knows and still loves them too." I laughed.
"I've really got to go guys." I said and they both hugged me again. "You are so nice." One of them said and the other one agreed.
I left and went back to my apartment and slumped down on the couch. I got out my phone and looked up I Still Do. The release date was today. I checked the date today and rolled my eyes.
There's no way this was about someone else, today would've been me and Daniel's one year anniversary. I realized today was also exactly one month until the Victoria's Secret show.
I scrolled through my camera roll and found a picture from a gorgeous shoot I did when i first got my wings and posted it.

I just put my phone down and laid on the couch.
I never thought about this, this feeling of loneliness. I've changed so much in this past year,
I always thought that the more successful I was, the more friends I would have. It's the opposite though, like I traded my friends and family for money and I'm really not okay with it anymore.
I did my best to keep my eyes open. The last thing I need is another dream about him.
Two days before the VS show
"Okay so I have wings fittings at three and that'll probably go until seven." I said over the phone to Gabbie, "what time is your flight coming in?"
"Around 10 or 11, we'll just call an Uber, I don't want you to have to avoid the paps and getting put all over TMZ." I laughed as she finished.
"Okay I'm gonna go grab lunch and then head to my fittings, I'll see you later."
I hung up and made my way out of the apartment.
