Kris's eyes slowly raised to see Toriel.
T: Come on, get up.
Kris sat up.
T: Ah, there you are. Breakfast is ready downstairs.
He nodded as she left his room. He sprung out of his bed and towards his closet. It was then in that moment that he remembered what the day had been. He shook off the thought as he grabbed his clothes.
(Timeskip)
Kris stepped into the kitchen as Toriel sat in a chair. She had a worried look on his face.
K: what is it, ma?
She looked up from the table.
T: A..a student got attacked.
Kris froze.
K: What?
T: Karen Bakerfield was attacked this morning..
Kris unexpectedly ran out of the house and towards the hospital. He didn't think or feel, he just needed to save her.
He came up to the hospital, letting his thoughts consume him. He composed himself and walked into the hospital to the desk.
K: Karen Bakerfield.
?: 304.
Kris nodded and walked to the room. He saw her parents walking alongside each other. He slowly walked behind them. They heard and saw him.
K/M: Oh hello.
K: Hi.
K/M: What are you doing here, walking alone?
K: Going to see Karen.
K/F: Good to see someone got to her first. We've heard that noone has come to see her yet.
K: Huh. I got here early. What about the attacker, did they catch them?
K/F: Yep. They was caught since Undyne was nearby. It was some old guy trying to kill her.
K: Thank god.
K/M: What about you? Are you her friend?
K: I..guess so. I don't know what we are, but it's strange and hard to say.
They both looked at each other and smiled.
K/F: Follow us.
Kris nodded as he walked behind them. They got to the room, the machine being the only noise in the room. The parents walked into the room, the sweet talking overcoming the deathly feeling.
The mother peered her head out and motioned her hand for Kris to come in. Kris walked into the room as Karen's eyes averted to him.
Ka: Hey, you!
K: Hey! I wake up this morning to hear you're in the hospital.
Ka: News sure does get around quickly.
K: For Ma, it does.
K/M: That reminds me, who's your mother?
K: Toriel Dreemurr.
The woman nodded.
Ka: I didn't think you were gonna see me.
K: I did though, so you're safe.
K/F: The doctor said you're gonna be fine. You'll just need to stay held up in here for a couple days.
K: That reminds me, what time is it?
The man checked his wrist watch.
K/F: 7:25.
K: Shit, class is about to start
Karen laughed.
K: I should get going. Everyone's probably gonna wonder where I am.
Ka: It was fun with you here.
K: Same. I'll be back when school ends, so don't think this is the last you'll see of me.
Kris made his way to the door.
Ka: Hey Kris?
Kris turned back to Karen.
Ka: I enjoy your company. And it was fun while you were here. Thank you.
Kris simply smiled.
K: You're welcome. Y'know, I was wrong to think you were like every bitchy cheerleader. You're much different. Don't forget that.
Kris walked out of the room. He felt happy with how he said it, and he made his way to the school.
He got to the school, where the bell was about to ring. Kris rushed into the building, avoiding other students, until one stopped him.
S: Eager to work, Kris?
Kris smiled as Susie looked upon him.
K: I'm trying not to be late.
S: Wow, I never thought I'd see the day.
The two chuckled. The bell suddenly rang.
S: You still need to get your bag?
K: Yeah, you go on ahead.
S: Ok, I'll see you in class.
Susie winked as she walked away to the classroom.
