Today was a day like any other, except for the fact he had to go back to college tomorrow. That thought was on his mind for the whole week. He knew college was important, but last year didn't go so well for him. That year, he had been quite new to college and he'd missed half his classes throughout the year, even though his classes were all two hours apart. He'd have to go back to living on campus and not being around his dads, Kakashi and Gai. To be honest, he loved his dads dearly, but he didn't tell many people about them because of how judgmental they could be. Last year, he lived in his dorm alone, while everyone else lived with roommates. It was quite lonely, having to go back to his dorm every night, knowing that he'd really have nothing to do. Though, to bring Lee's spirits back up, he'd think of how grateful he was to have friends in this college. He even had a crush on a girl named Sakura. She was mean to Lee, but he honestly didn't care. He thought she was beautiful! Lee sighed out loud, causing one of his dads, Kakashi, to look up at him from his book.
"Is something wrong, Lee?" Kakashi asked, closing his book and setting it beside him to look at Lee who was sitting at the dining room table. Lee shook his head and smiled a smile that resembled his other dad's smile. Wide and toothy.
"It is nothing! I'm just a bit stressed about school starting up again tomorrow... I won't be able to see you and Dad!" Lee says, kind of frowning.
"Ah, well, here," Kakashi mumbles, standing up to walk over to Lee to hand him a picture of them all. "Take a bit of us with you."
"Thank you, Father!!" Lee shouts, standing and hugging Kakashi tightly. Kakashi smiled softly, even though he was wearing a face mask. You could always tell when he smiled, for his eyes closed and his mask lifted the slightest bit.
"Do you think you will make it through the first day without someone finding you passed out on the floor of the bathroom?" Kakashi says, chuckling lightly, referring to the first day last year where Kakashi and Gai were informed that a student had found Lee passed out in the bathroom, due to pressure of the first day. Lee frowned.
"I do not believe that will happen this year.. I am sure of it!" Lee shouts, taking in a deep breath, making Kakashi chuckle again.
"All right Lee, if you're sure. And reassure me that you will not go to the Infirmary this year for any reason except if you need to ask something. I don't want you getting hurt at school.." Kakashi says, though he mumbled the last bit.
"Father you know I will not get hurt! I am very strong!" Lee says, smiling a toothy grin again. Kakashi sighs and smiles again.
"Yes, I know how strong you are. Anyways, if you want to be all energized for tomorrow, I recommend going to sleep within the next thirty minutes." Kakashi says, since it was 8 o'clock at night.
"But.. Can I stay awake until Dad gets home??" Lee asks eagerly, since he takes after his dad in a lot of ways. It may seem childish for him to want to stay up, but to be honest, Gai was more of Lee's role model than Kakashi. He looked up to Gai in every way. They even look the same, both having bowl cuts and wearing the color green all the time.
"Yes, I suppose that wouldn't hurt, just as long as you go to sleep as soon as you say goodnight. I don't want you being tired when you go to school and leave me and Gai for a whole one hundered and eighty one days." Kakashi says, sounding irritated but not showing it. Lee nods and looks determined to see Gai. Kakashi sighs once again, and goes to his room because he was very tired.
When Gai gets home, he finds Lee passed out on the couch--the place Gai usually sleeps--and covers him up with a blanket. He then sets down a bag on the arm chair that is next to the couch and walks to his room, knowing that Kakashi was probably asleep. He slowly opened the door, which creaked loudly, causing Kakashi to look up from his book.
"You aren't asleep yet, Kakashi? I thought you would be, seeing as to you are always asleep when I get home on Sundays....." Gai says, kicking off his shoes and laying next to Kakashi. Kakashi shrugged and set his book down on the nightstand.
"I'm just not tired yet, I suppose." Kakashi mumbles. Then, not a second later, he yawns. "Oh.. Nevermind.."
"You are tired! Well, I'll try not to disturb you with your slumber. I know it is very important to you." Gai says, laughing and hugging Kakashi but not letting go. A few minutes later, they both fall fast asleep.
