Here it is! I Hope you like it!
"Well," I asked.
He seemed a little hesitant. Like there really was something that he didn't want me to know. He keeps looking away, like he can't look me in the eyes. I was just fishing around, but it looks like I caught something.
"Well, you're imagining things!" he exclaimed.
"I will get you to tell me," I told him, confident.
"There's nothing to tell," he said innocently.
"Ok, whatev, let's get to the homework," I said as if nothing ever happened.
We sat down on his bed with the homework on our laps. I really do not like this part. I do not want to get to know him, and he does not want to get to know me. Yet a part of me was desperate to tell him all about me. I tried to shut that part to the back of my mind. Every time I told it to be quiet, it keeps coming back.
"Go away," I murmured.
"What?" he asked. "It's my room, just so you know,"
I could feel my face going red.
"Nothing, I didn't notice that I said that out loud," I said embarrassed.
He laughed and said, "Don't worry about it, I do it too."
I started to feel warm all over. Nooo, don't do that! You do not like him, you like Carl. What are you doing? You never said you liked him. Okay, maybe I do, but that's not the point. Or is it? I should stop confusing myself.
"Ok, first question, what characteristic did you get from your dad?" I asked, trying to distract myself, but failing miserably.
"My awesome looks, my charming personality, and just the awesomeness overall,"he said with a smile on his face.
"Seriously," I said.
"Fine, My dad is left handed, which I am too. I got my brown hair from my mom," he said.
"What happened to your dad," I asked. "I mean, I heard that he was out of your life."
He looked at me as if it was a really personal story.
"You don't have to if you don't want to," I said.
"He betrayed me and my mom, nothing much to it," He said.
"Oh, I take it that he cheated on her?" I asked.
He gave me a real serious, hatred in his eyes.
"He cheated on both of us," he sneered at me.
"Sorry," I apologized for no reason.
"Just get to work," he glared at me.
We worked on our project for half an hour and then agreed that it was time for a poptart break.
"MMM," I said as I put the poptart in the toaster.
"Just hurry up will ya?" he asked.
"But I'm already here," I teased.
He sneered at me and looked away. I got really frustrated at him.
"You have a bad life, so what? Suck it up, get over it. If you don't, life won't hesitate to swallow you up. Then you will be living in a hole that you dug yourself. You will dig yourself so deep that you won't be able to get yourself out. I understand that your dad betrayed you, get over it. Both my parents died, on the same night! Do you see me wallowing in my self pity. No. If I start thinking about it, it leads me to a path filled with what if. It leads me to if this happened my life would be better. But I can't do that. I start thinking about the past, then I live in the past. A lot of good that is going to do." I probably shouldn't have exploded like that at him, he didn't deserve it, but it's hard without parents.
He looked at me once, then again. It looked like he wanted to say something, then stopped. He suddenly got angry and began on a rant.
"You have no idea. No idea at all what I have been through. My mom isn't really there for me. Sometimes she is out on the street corner because she's too damn lazy to get a real job!! She blames what happened with my dad on me. It was not my fault. Yeah, I got angry. I didn't kill him. Do you honestly think I would do something that atrocious? No! He had an argument with mom, called her some dirty names that involve her job.He got pissed off and told his friend about her profession and then about me being a Vampi..." He stopped short.
My head was spinning. I felt like I was about to fall down. He was a vampire. Does that even exist. I must be dreaming. I have to be, this can't possibly be real. I was told so many times that it's just fairy tales. Soon, someone was going to wake me up. Telling me it was just a weird dream.
"Finish that sentence," I said weekly.
"I didn't say anything," he said.
"Oh 'c'mon, I know you weren't going to say camp fire," I said angrily.
"Vampire..." he whispered.
I suddenly couldn't breath. My air was constricted. The room seemed too small.
"Are you scared of me? I bet you want to run," he spat. He was slowly leaning in towards me.
"My body is luring you in right now, it's part of what we are," he said seductively.
We. There is more than one. I feel like I have been introduced to a whole other world.
"No, you don't scare me," I said that.
His lips were only inches from mine. My heart was thumping wildly in my ears. I couldn't think straight or even breath right. My vision was blurry from all of the recent events.
He's going to kiss me, I thought stupidly. Suddenly my old dream came into my head. The one with lightening guy. "Don't, It will kill you!" The words echoed in my head.
I don't know why, but I listened to his advice. I pulled away, at the last second. He looked very confused and scared.
Beep, beep, Beep!
It was the smoke alarm, the poptarts were smoking.
"Always getting in the way," he murmured and ran off. I had a funny feeling that he was talking about the guy in my dream. That's impossible though. That's what I thought about vampires though. With that thought, my legs gave out, and I sunk into unconsciousness.
What do you think will happen next?
