*Steve's point of view*

I thought I saw Natasha standing outside the Gym Doors but I don't think it was. I had to clear my head so I went down to the gym and beat up some bags. I always thought it helped but something isn't right this time. I beat up 10 bags in 30 minutes and I decided that was enough. That's when I thought I saw Natasha. It had to have been someone because when I started walking towards the doors, I saw the figure run. I gained some speed and jogged to the doors. I opened them and saw the figure turn a corner. I ran down the corridor and straight to the elevator but it was too late. They were heading down to the garage. I'm not sure why I followed them, there was something pulling me towards them.

I went back to the gym and got my bag. I had a quick sip of water and left the gym and headed back to the apartment. The hallway leading to the apartments seemed desolate. I heard sobbing but I'm not sure which room or why, so I continued to my room. I opened the door and walked inside. Something felt... different. I walked in and put my bag on the bed when I noticed one of Natasha's tshirts lying on the bed. That's strange. She doesn't do that usually. I picked up the tshirt and walked over to her set of drawers. I opened it and saw... nothing. What? It was full this morning when we got dressed. Why is it empty?

I sat on the bed after checking all the drawers to see all of them were like the first drawer, empty. What's going on? Where are all her clothes? Has she moved out? I mean we never really moved in together, she just stayed around my house every night and only had a few clothes at her apartment, 415. Let's check there.

I got to her apartment to see it was empty. Only furniture. Her drawers were empty. Her bedside cabinet was empty. Her bed was made. She can't have just left, could she? I rushed over to her cupboard where she keeps all her suitcases and bags. I opened it to reveal nothing. Where is she? Has she gone on a late mission and forgot to tell me? No. No way. Why would she take all her clothes except one tshirt?

I walked back to my apartment trying to find a reasonable explanation but none popped into my head. I opened the door and sat on the couch. Where is she?
"Natasha?" I yelled but I got no response. She wasn't here. She wasn't there. Neither were her belongings.

I stood up and walked over to the kitchen but a piece of paper on the table caught my eye. On the front of it, it read "Steve x" I opened the note to find a letter. Curious, I started reading.

Dear Steve,

I'm really sorry to do this to you. I really don't want to leave, But I have to. I have to find Bruce and put an end to all this madness. You and I both know he will come for me when he is ready and I know that you will try to protect me the best you can. I know that you will get hurt, or worse. I could never live with myself knowing I did nothing to protect you.

That's why I'm leaving. Protection. Please don't try to find me because you won't. You know me better than that. I'm sorry I ran from you back at the gym, I was scared that if I spoke to you again, I would never leave. I'm sorry but I need to do this.

If something happens to me and I die, I need you to know that I love you. You are the most amazing man on the planet and I'm so glad that I can call you my boyfriend. You are the light in my life and the fire in my soul. If it weren't for you, I probably wouldn't be alive today. I need you to know that I will always love you, forever. If I survive this then I promise you I'll come back to you. Just please stay safe. This is killing me writing this. I will miss you with all my heart.

Babe, you made my life worth living and I hope I can do just that but this is a suicide mission. Im Going in alone and I have no back up. I wish I could've told you this in person, but I knew that you wouldn't let me go. I have to go as my flight leave soon.

I love you Steven Rogers.
I always have and I always will.
I'm sorry.

Love,
Natasha Romanoff

My hands were shaking. My breathing was uneven. I was freaking out. I had tears streaming down my face. Shes gone. She was actually gone. Wait. Could I catch her flight? I grabbed my bike keys and left the apartment. I ran down the corridor to Clint's apartment and knocked on his door as loud as I could. Clint opened the door, red faced and bloodshot eyes.
"Hey Rogers, what's up?" He asked, trying to hide the fact he was crying.
"You know don't you." I stepped back and Clint stepped forward. "Where is she going?"
"Steve, I'm sorry but-"
"WHERE IS SHE GOING?"
"BUDAPEST. She's getting a plane to Budapest in half an hour. I'm sorry."
"Thank you" I ran down the corridor and went to the stairs because I knew the elevator was too slow, plus the amount of adrenaline inside me made me go faster than the elevator.

I got to the garage and noticed her car was gone. I hopped on my bike and sped away. I checked my watch when I was near the airport and I saw I had 10 minutes left. I got off my bike and raced through to departures. I ran through security. They knew who I was so they didn't really care. They knew they couldn't stop me. I ran through the departures lounge and I saw a board listing all the flights. I saw that Budapest was boarding at gate 17. I ran towards the gate. I looked at my watch, 2 minutes.

I arrived at gate 17 and saw no one. The plane was still there but it wasn't attached. To the building. I couldn't get to her. The plane began to pull away and I saw a red head in one of the Windows. Natasha. I waved. I yelled. I screamed. But she couldn't see me. It was useless. I was too late. Natasha had gone. She was gone. I saw that she turned to face the Airport. She linked eyes with me. She started crying. She... she... pulled down the blinds. She was gone.

I watched her plane take off and I felt a part of me go with her. I sat in the airport, crying. I couldn't move. I didn't even leave her gate. Half an hour after she took off, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Clint.
"I'm sorry." He said, quietly as he sat next to me.
"Don't be. It's my fault" I replied.
"Steve, she didn't leave because of you, she left because she doesnt want anything to happen to you."
"When did you find out she was leaving?"
"Earlier. I saw the way she looked at you and the way she said goodbye to everyone. I confronted her and I immediately knew there was nothing I could do to make her stay. She told me to tell you that if something happens to her, that you should know that she loves you."
"She left me a letter." I handed Clint the letter and he read it. He cried with me as we sat and hoped that she would return.
"She meant every word of that."
"How do you know?! She could've lied to all of us and say that so she could just get away from me?!"
"You see this?" He pointed out a smudged piece of writing on the page. "That's a tear." He said. "She didn't want to leave you."

After another half an hour of sitting in silence, me and Clint left the airport and headed back to Avengers Tower. I went back to the apartment and cried myself to sleep. I held her tshirt close to me and I felt a little better with her scent near me. When was she going to come back? Was she going to come back?
