Doubting Himself

"I missed you, you know.." Axel breathes softly against Roxas' ear. They're lying in bed together, both naked under the covers. Roxas nods, humming softly as he cuddles against the redhead. Axel chuckles softly, holding Roxas close, "You have no idea how good it feels to have you with me again."

"I know," Roxas yawns, "I feel the same way. I've missed you so much."

Axel looks at him, "You drive me crazy, you know?"

Roxas looks back up at him, "A good kind of crazy, I hope."

Axel smiles, "Only the best. I'm going to be better to you, I promise."

"I'm going to be better, too." Roxas nods.

Axel smiles and moves, kissing Roxas, who kisses him back. Once Axel shifts back, Roxas snuggles up to him again and sighs, closing his eyes. Axel holds him close again and let's himself fall asleep as well. The next morning, Roxas wakes alone in Axel's bed. He sits up, rubbing his eyes as he yawns. The house is quiet so he assumes Axel went to work. He yawns, pushing the covers back and getting out of bed. He grabs some fresh clothes and goes to take a shower.

After he's showered and found something to eat, Roxas busies himself with cleaning the house as he doesn't have a job to fill his time. After all that, Roxas sits around the house aimlessly, bored. He sighs and grabs his jacket before putting his shoes on and leaving the house. He walks down the street, looking around. It's cold, but the scenery is pretty.

Crystalized, shining snow litters the ground and pretty ice glitters from signs and street lights. There's not a lot of people around at this time, leaving the surroundings undisturbed. A pretty, winter day, one that Roxas greatly appreciates. Winter has always been Roxas' favorite season for reasons just like this. He sighs, rubbing his cold hands together as he makes his way down the street.

He doesn't really have a destination in mind, just wanting to waste time. He contemplates on actually going somewhere when he runs into someone. He stumbles, but the person he ran into catches his arm and steadies him. Roxas gasps softly, shivering. He stands straight and looks at the person he had run into, eyes a little wide. He stares up at Saix, his expression slowly turning confused.

"Saix?" Roxas questions.

Saix raises an eyebrow, not looking impressed, "You should really pay attention to what's around you, Roxas. What if I was a car? You could be dead."

Roxas frowns, "Right.."

Saix sighs, crossing his arms, "I really don't see what Axel sees in you."

Roxas glares at him, "That's not really any of your business."

"Actually, it is," Saix states, "Axel is my best friend, and it is in his best interest that you and I have a chat."

Roxas continues glaring, "And if I don't want to chat?"

Saix's eyes narrow, "Roxas, I'm trying to be nice here."

"Doesn't seem that way," Roxas scoffs, walking past Saix.

"Look," Saix growls, turning and grabbing the younger boy by the arm, "Axel is a pathetic, lovesick moron, but he's still my best friend and I care about him."

Roxas rolls his eyes, jerking his arm out of Saix's hold, glaring at the taller man, "I care about Axel, so whatever you're going to say isn't needed."

"Obviously it is." Saix glares back, "You're just a stupid kid, and I've been meaning to talk to you about this for a long time. So, we're going to have this chat, and you're going to sit quiet and listen."

Roxas crosses his arms, "I don't have to do anything you say. I barely even know you."

"That's part of the problem," Saix states, "I'm Axel's best friend, I should be one of the main people you know. But I'm not, do you know why that is?"

"Because you're a dick?" Roxas continues to glare.

Saix's eyes narrow and he clenches his hands into fists. Roxas just stands there before him with an angry expression on his face. Saix groans softly and turns away from him, sighing deeply, "Forget it. You're not worth it. Axel will just have to figure out his own mistakes."

"Hey!" Roxas groans, "You have no right--!"

Saix whirls around, glaring and cutting Roxas off, "No, you have no right. You never should have came crawling back to him. You're no good for him, you know it, and so does he."

Roxas grits his teeth and Saix stares at him. He then grunts softly and turns away, "Do some actual thinking about how your actions affect him. You're the problem, Roxas."

"Fuck you!" Roxas shouts, anger seething from him.

He's shaking lightly, glaring with angry tears in his eyes. Saix says nothing and just walks away. Roxas scoffs, rolling his eyes as he storms back home. Saix has no right to say those things to me. I haven't done anything wrong, and Axel and I are working past our issues. He has no right to give his opinions here. I'm going to talk to Axel about this. Once he's back home, Roxas sighs, relishing in the warmth of his shared home as he sheds his coat and steps out of his shoes.

Roxas waits patiently for Axel to get home, and when he does, the younger boy approaches him, "We need to talk."

Axel smiles softly, "Sure, what's up?"

Roxas opens his mouth to speak, but then stops. He frowns, thinking over the things Saix had said to him. Is there really something wrong with me? Am I the reason our relationship doesn't work? His eyes meet Axel's and Roxas smiles softly, "You gotta give me more to do when you're gone. I was bored all day."

Axel chuckles, "I'm sure you can figure something out. You're very resourceful when you want to be."

Roxas nods, looking thoughtful. He clears his throat, "Where does Saix live?"

"Saix?" Axel looks curious, "You hate Saix."

Roxas shrugs, "He's your best friend, right? Maybe it's time I put that behind me."
