YOU ARE MY HOME, YOU ALWAYS WERE
I was in my cell, I haven't left since last night. I could hear what Glenn was saying, to sneak back in. It was suicide and he wasn't thinking clearly. He hasn't been since his beating. I climbed down and started making my way towards Glenn.
"You really think he's in any position to make that choice," Glenn asked.
I wedged myself between Hershel and Glenn. I started shoving Glenn backwards.
"Back off Glenn," I monotoned.
"Why. Why, why should I June?"
I kept a blank face.
"Rick's in no position to make decisions. Daryl's gone and you're..."
My face hardened.
"I'm what Glenn. Hmm? What? Incapable of keeping my mind in the right place? Incapable of making decisions? Incapable of not ticking? Trust me Glenn. I'm capable of making plenty of decisions more than you are. You need to talk to Maggie. You need to sort yourself out before you making anymore rash decisions. Do you hear me? Or so help me god, if you decide to leave this prison tonight to go kill the governor? I'm gonna lock you in your cell until morning."
Glenn glanced down before sighing.
"Fine. We'll stay put. We're gonna defend this place. You in?"
"It's the best thing that we've had since the farm. Course I'm in."
Glenn nodded and I glanced at Carol before heading back to my room. "You're a mangy mutt! No one will ever love you!" "Everyone will think you're crazy, that you don't have a clear thought in your mind!" "Anything you do...it won't help you. You'll always be weak."
I laid back down on my bed and turned to face the wall. "Ignore them Juni. You're not a mangy mutt, you're Juniper! The strongest person there could be in our family. I love you sis." Tears sprung to my eyes and hid my face into my pillow to hide the tears.Had been a few hours when Glenn stood at my doorway. I cocked an eyebrow. I mean, he did just come from Maggie's cell.
"You up for the uh..."
I sighed, not wanting him to go alone. He needed someone right now to talk to. I hopped off and grabbed my crossbow and slung my bat holster on and the bat.
"Let's go Pizza boy," I smiled lightly.
Glenn and I started for the truck. Hershel followed by us.
"Glenn," Hershel called, "Glenn!"
Glenn slow downed and I turned to face Hershel, he nodded at me. I turned back around and continued to the truck. I climbed in and waited for Glenn. When Glenn climbed in that's when we started heading out. It was a quiet trip. I turned towards Glenn to see him angry.
"Stop the truck," I sighed.
Glenn glanced at me before slowing down and pulling off to the side. I turned towards him as he turned towards me.
"Wanna talk about it."
"Not really in the-"
"You gotta talk about it sometime Glenn. It's eating you alive. Talk to me."
"He almost raped her June..."
"I understand that, but he didn't. Now you gotta let it go...it's in the past. If she wants to talk about it, she will. You gotta give her time. Anything else?"
"I—...I'm thinking about asking her to marry me."
A grin broke surface.
"Finally you turd."
Glenn gave me a big grin and we started going again, finishing our little trip around the prison. We got there and tried to survey the area.
"Too hairy," I shook my head, "we need to head back."
"Alright," Glenn agreed.
We turned the truck around and started heading back. I heard something different this time. Lot of walkers...and gunfire. I turned to Glenn who looked at me confused.
"Step on it."
Glenn nodded and we started making our way back faster than when we left. When we got back the governor was just leaving.
"Leave him, let's go!"
Glenn nodded and we rolled up. We made it closer to Hershel before we hopped out. I spun around and shot a walker as Glenn rushed to aid Hershel, Michonne joining them. I moved out of the way as I covered them so they could get Hershel into the front seat.
"June!"
"Go!"
Glenn nodded as I tossed my crossbow over my back and pulled out my bat. A familiar feeling rolled through me. A slight smirk rose to my face as I swung. I started running for a tower.
"June," Beth yelled.
I turned and smacked my bat with full force at the walker's head. It snapped off and rolled as I continued running. I ducked in and rushed to the top. Everyone was staring at the walkers, but I was staring at Daryl.
"Where's Ember," Carl questioned.
I let out a whistle, catching everyone's attention. I heard Carl sigh in relief.
"The hell is Red doin' up there," Daryl questioned.
"Your answer is as good as mine," Rick stated.
