MYSTERIOUS GROUPIES
-Juniper's POV-
Walk. Scavenge. Kill. That's all I know how to do. I've walked, scavenged, and killed since leaving Atlanta. Away from the safe zone. I stopped walking on the highway when I saw back roads. It was fun, I loved the rush of swinging my bat at the dead...and the living, but I haven't come across a whole lot of life.
I whistled while swinging my bat around in one hand as I skipped down the gravel road. I had a little crazy in me from my parents and their training, but other than that I was as stable as anyone else these days, maybe better to be honest.
I came to a stop when I heard yelling from the woods. I cocked my head in that direction when it simmered down. Two males, arguing over a missing little girl, grid. My interest peaked and I raced off into the woods following the voices the best I could. They got quiet, but it wasn't hard to find them, if I concentrated hard enough anyway. I squatted once they came into my view. I tilted my head curiously. I stealthily followed them to the edge of the woods as they walked towards a farm.
Once they were half-way to the farm. I ran on all fours easily and came to a halt where the tall grass ended and studied their group. They're interesting...kinda reminds me of Callus and his friends. My heart broke slightly as I thought of Callus, but I shoved the thought away quickly.
I sat there for a long time studying them. Until I heard the one on the RV yell walker. I whipped my head around at the man. He walked like a walker, slightly looked like one, but he breathed like a human. I raced over quietly and studied him a few feet away as the group ran up to him.
"Is that Daryl," the Asian asked.
"That's the third time you've pointed that thing at my head," Daryl stated, "you gonna pull the trigger or what?"The men seemed to calm down, but I heard the shot before it even reached Daryl. Before anyone could act, I shoved Daryl to the ground, as the bullet grazed my arm. The men looked shocked as I rolled off Daryl and felt my arm.
I sat up and looked down as the man with the python pointed his gun atme.
"Who are you," he growled.
I turned to look at Daryl and then back up at the man.
"Don't worry about it, your man's gonna bleed out," I commented.
They glanced at Daryl then back at me. The guy put his gun away as he and the shaved head guy started hauling Daryl towards their camp. I got up and ran towards the woods and climbed a tree before they knew I was gone. I leaned against it as I watched the African-American and Asian look into the woods for me then followed after their guys.
Once I knew they were gone, I climbed down and walked to the creek and washed my graze and wrapped part of a ripped cloth I had around it. I returned to the edge of the woods and back into the tall grass and watched them carefully.Night time started crawling onto the world and I retreated to the wood-line and into a tree. I watched quietly as everyone went inside the house. My stomach grumbled slightly but I ignored it, knowing I ran out of rations weeks ago. I took a light nap before I heard their screen door again. I whipped my head towards it, seeing the group come out and towards their tents. I watched one walk towards the barn. I knew it was full of walkers, it was faint but I could still hear them. They haven't caused any problems yet.
I slowly closed my eyes and retreated into a sleep-like state where I could still hear what's going on around me, even though I'm sleeping.
