MELT DOWN FOR TERMINUS
CHRISTMAS DAY RELEASE

I watched from my spot in my tree while Terminus took some heavy damage. I tilted my head in confusion. I would've been in Terminus by now if it wasn't for the fact there were spotters, and I could smell the faint and recent smell of human blood. It practically radiated off the building. There was a fire and plenty of walkers making their way into the protected area.
"What a shame," I mumbled.
I climbed down from the tree and started walking away. What about the others. What about them? If they were here, this wouldn't have happened. But you know the smell. What if they're there. You just going to turn your back on them? On Carl? Rick? Daryl? Your special Daryl? I let out a groan.
"I hate it when inner me has a point. I really need to find my group...or people."
I spun back around and headed for Terminus. I held my sword in one hand and my bat in the other. I whistled while I headed in. I sauntered past screaming people who obviously didn't know I wasn't one of them. I skimmed peacefully past walkers and avoided Terminus people with guns. I only killed when I needed to or knock walkers on their asses.
I came to containers with people yelling until I saw my boys. My boys, opening a container with the rest of our family. My shoulders relaxed of relief before they started moving. I let out a quick laugh before zoning back in. I herded my way after them watching them work their way through. I watched one squirm away from one. I rolled my eyes before picking up one of my throwing knives and chucking it. The man watched in shock before I rushed up and yanked it out.
"Move it."
He nodded before rushing after the others. They didn't realize I was with them as we all continued towards the fence.
"Up and over," ordered the pig-tailed lady.
"Where's Ember when you need her," Carl huffed.
I smirked. Daryl grunted.
"No kiddin'."
I was the last in line besides Rick but I just took a running start at it and hopped over. I didn't necessarily care for the barbed wiring.
"Who the hell-"
I took a protective stance so the others didn't have to worry about walkers. Daryl and Rick were the last to come over besides the redhead.
"Let's move," Rick ordered.
I placed my sword back in it's holster before following the clueless group until they came to a stop. I stopped too but that was before the redhead noticed me. He whipped around and held me at point. I rolled my eyes as the entire group turned towards me, Rick raising the AK.
"Gee," I commented, "what a grand welcome back."
"June," Rick questioned.
"Ember," Carl cried, rushing towards me and hugging me.
"Told ya she wasn't dead," Daryl smirked, "ain't nothin' that can kill Red."
Rick lowered his gun as Daryl walked up and kissed my forehead. My shoulders slumped in exhaustion.
"You know this chick," mullet questioned.
"That chick," I growled, "has a name. Best watch how you act boy."
The redhead got defensive in front of the mullet man. I let out a little snarl at him.
"Ease up," Rick ordered, "that's Eugene. He has the cure for this thing."
I turned my head towards Rick with an obviously scowl.
"Yeah, well he needs to learn some manners."
"So do you," the redhead commented, taking one step towards me.
I tensed up and Daryl shot his arm in front of me, blocking me from attacking.
"Let it go Red," Daryl murmured into my ear, "they ain't worth it."
I let a little growl before starting forward.
"Where you goin'," pigtails questioned.
"Away from the hot zone," I commented, "a couple on left."
"Let's get moving," Rick sighed, taking up my right side while Daryl lead in front.
I have no idea where we were headed, but it didn't matter to me since I was with my boys. We had walked for a few more miles before we stopped.
"Right here," Daryl commented.
I shrugged as I took point a few feet away as they chatted and handed out weapons. I heard light footsteps that belonged to one person. Carol. I turned towards her in utter shock and joy. Daryl turned towards her like she was a lifeline. He ran for her and hugged her, picking her up slightly.
Once he let go, he turned towards me. Carol did the same, except Rick walked up to her. I walked towards Daryl and stood by his side.
"Did you do that," Rick asked.
Then they hugged. Once Rick let go, I pulled Carol in tightly and tears brimmed my eyes.
"Don't cry," Carol muttered, kissing the side of my head, "don't cry June..."
"I thought..." I mumbled, "I didn't—I would've..."
We pulled away at arms length before she directed her attention to the others.
"You have to come with me."
I looked back at Rick and the others before I noticed the crossbow. I gingerly took it from her and handed it to Daryl. He pulled me to his side and leaned his head on my shoulder.
"When I didn't see you at Terminus," Daryl muttered, "I thought they got to you already."
I turned my head slightly before I kissed his cheek. He didn't need to hear words. He already knew. I felt him relax behind me before we started moving. He let me go as we walked. I was on his right side near the front of the group.

We came upon a shack where Tyreese came out with Judith. Rick dropped his things and ran, Sasha and Carl did too. I rolled my eyes before picking up Rick's things, along with Carl's with ease and continued our short little walk forward.
"This guy," I grumbled, "drop your things conveniently not inconveniently."
Daryl smirked before rolling his eyes at me, but that was it.

We were all lounging around, marveling at Judith—sort of. Rosita and Abraham were "taking watch" while the others crowded together slightly.
"What happened," Carol questioned.
"There were a bunch of walkers out here," Tyreese explained, "and he got his hands around Judith's neck."
I tensed and let out a little snarl. Carol turned to head in but Tyreese stopped her.
"No, he's dead."
I relaxed and let out a little hum of acceptance. Daryl shook his head at my side at my little noises.
"I don't know if the fire is still burning," Rick pointed out.
"It is," Carol commented.
"Yeah. We need to go. June, counter."
"None currently," I spoke up, "they're all down in Terminus having themselves a little snack."
"You and your analogies," Rick huffed.
I gave him an innocent smile.
"Yeah, but where," Daryl asked.
"Somewhere far away from there."
We started moving and headed away from Terminus on the train tracks and turning into the woods. I twirled my bat with familiar motions before swinging it like I was playing actual baseball before twirling it in boredom.
