"I know this sounds insane," Rick commented, "but this is an insane world. We have to come for them before they come for us. It's that simple. This is where it all starts tomorrow. Tobin gets in the truck, opens the exit and we're off. He hops out, catches up with his team at red staying on the west side of the road. Daryl gets on his bike-"
We were at a place where an old camp made to stop walkers. It was overflowing now so we had to deal with it. It wasn't something I wanted to participate in, but it was something that I had no choice upon. There was a rumble on the far side, gaining all our attention.
"You see that," Sasha commented.
We watched as the semi-truck fell from it's spot on the cliff.
"Well fuck me," I stated, resting my hands on my hips.
"It's open," Rick hollered, "we got to do this now! We're doing this now!"
Everyone started running into action as I continued to stare at the walker's exit. Rick was barking orders behind me but I didn't care much.
"Red," Daryl yelled, "would you stop starin' at the problem, they're almost here!"
I turned to Daryl and crossed my arms.
"Oh, I'm sorry," I taunted, "I didn't realize I had to be prepared. Let me know when they're actually here dipshit."
I spun back around and watched the walkers steadily come out of the pit from the opposite side.
"June," Rick hollered, "fold up!"
I heard the walker closing in on me and I whipped out my bat and turned into it before the walker could even grab me. I stared down at it before joining the others.
Days Ago
I was walking with Maggie until we saw Glenn with Nicholas and rushed after.
"Tara," Maggie rushed out.
"I'm okay," Tara sighed, "you should check on them."
Maggie walked over to Glenn while I waited my turn like a good best friend.
"I'm okay," comforted Glenn.
"What happened," Maggie fretted.
"We were out there. The walkers and—we're all right. Got winged by a ricochet."
I turned to look at Nicholas but I felt Glenn grab my wrist.
"It's all right."
"Holy shit," voiced Eugene from near the door.
Maggie nodded at me and I rushed forward, hugging Glenn tightly. He groaned but accepted the hug since I wasn't letting go any time soon.
"I'm all right," Glenn grumbled, "I'm all right June..."
"You didn't come and when I asked Daryl—he didn't see you," I whispered, "and I got worried-"
"I'm fine, see June bug?"
I pulled away from the hug and punched his arm with a scowl. He winced.
"Right, right. I understand, please don't hit me again."
"Damn straight pizza boy."
Maggie laughed at our antic in happiness before pulling us into a hug with her.
"You two are just so darn cute," she gushed.
"Yes, and as much as I enjoy both your companies. I have an impatient bow boy back home waiting to ask me a series of endless questions no doubt."
"Wish you luck," Glenn grinned.
I waved goodbye as I headed to the house. I hummed as I headed to the house Daryl was currently in with the newcomer Morgan, and Rick.

I casually entered the house, letting them know of my presence.
"Knock, knock," I joked, entering the room they resided in, "I'm here for the party."
"June," Rick sighed.
"C'mon," Daryl grumbled, pointing towards the stairs.
I gave Rick a smirk and raised my eyebrows suggestively.
"It's happening~"
Rick looked at me with disgust, obviously not wanting to hear about Daryl and I about to go at it.
Daryl scoffed, "no it ain't. Now c'mon."
I smiled innocently at Rick as I followed Daryl up the stairs. We were only going to chat, that was it. As much as I'm sure most of the group would squeal in joy or disgust...they'd be happy about our sexual tension finally being released. We entered a room and I shut the door behind me.
"Alright big guy, lay it on me."
"What happened while we were gone?"
I nodded, looking around the small space of the room.
"Well. Rick went back into loony town...I nearly strangled Pete to death-"
"Who you then shot."
I winced at his tone of voice.
"Yeah...but it was either I do it, or Rick does. And, to be honest, them hating me wouldn't be as bad as them hating Rick y'know. Anyway, then Glenn disappeared before we had this whole council meeting that you guys rolled up at the end of. Pete killed Reg, Deanna's husband."
"Damn, and this happened in two days?"
I threw my hands up, "welcome to the apocalypse Daryl. Weird things can happened in only a span of an hour."
Current Time
I ran with Michonne, Rick, and Morgan. We ran for miles, which was annoying to say the least, but it's what I signed up for.
"How you holding up June," Rick panted.
"Ask me again in an hour," I wheezed.
Rick nodded, deciding to check in with Glenn.
"Glenn, you there yet?"
"Almost," Glenn replied, "we'll have it handled before they get here."
"Yell if you need help, I'm sure June would gladly come running."
"We'll be fine. We'll meet you at yellow."
I smirked, "more like he doesn't want my rescuing."
Rick chuckled, "copy that."
We stared at yellow in front of us.
"It'll hold."
"Well that's good," Michonne panted, "you know, considering where we're standing."
"Michonne," Morgan broke the short silence.
"Yeah?"
"Back when you were in that place...where I lived...did you take one of my protein bars?"
I burst into laughter, trying to cover my mouth and be quiet.
"No."
"See, I could have sworn there was one more peanut butter left."
"That's how it is, isn't it? You always think there's one more peanut butter left."
I pulled out my baseball bat from it's holster and started swinging it carelessly. I let out a sigh.
"Can we invest in some baseballs," I asked, "hell, I'll take some tennis balls if I can."
"We'll put it on the list," Rick commented, "in the mean time, do with what you can."
I looked at Rick with a ridiculed expression, ready to swing.
"So air and the occasional walker when I'm allowed?"
"If that's the way it's been so far, then yeah."
I groaned quietly, swinging my bat.
"Home run," Michonne joked.
