fight for it with swords

Hello, Tess. I am back. Is there any reason why your heart bumps so fast? Are you having a... how did you call it? Heart attack? Do me a favour and do not die, I still need you.

Tessa felt cold, which was actually rather nice after her sprint through the city.

'I was running. And thank you for being so concerned about my well-being, because I'm still useable. That warms anybody's heart, very charming. Get out of my mind, Loki.', Tessa thought while opening her door, throwing her shoes away and entering her kitchen, the grocery bags still in her hands.

Grabbing a mug out of her drawer she filled it with water and drank fastly. She was also fast with shopping today, went to a small store and took only what was absolutely necessary to survive. And a newspaper to look through job-ads, she would also search online later. Maybe she would find something bearable, Tessa thought, browsing through the newspaper until she was staring at some job advertisements.

Taking another sip out of her mug she started to read through them.

Good, so we can skip the warm-up. I will be out of here soon anyway.

„If you want to help me, you should be prepared, Tess."

She flinched for a second, before putting down her mug on the desk in front of her. Last time she broke it, so maybe she was getting used to being scared to hell like that.

Talking to him inside her mind was still weird but she knew how to keep him away from what she did not want him to know. Or at least she thought so.

Tessa turned around, sipping the last drops of water from her mug, before nodding as a greeting.

„I swear, I will get a heart-attack someday because you just appear out of nowhere or vanish in front of my eyes. It will forever be weird, even after the hundredth time. And would you mind stop that 'hey, I am in your head' thing?", Tessa said looking at Loki who smiled innocently, shaking his head lightly before offering her a blade he got from wherever.

Tessa snorted in lack of a better response.

„That is certainly not the kind of weapon I'm used to from my army days. Can I not use a gun? Or... I don't know, that blue shooter-thing you had when – nevermind."

He started glaring at her midsentence, so she decided to not even try it. Besides, the blade he was showing her looked kind of cool.

Not like a real sword, much shorter than that, more like a long knife, and it was black. It looked somewhat beautiful in the sunlight that shone through her small kitchen window. Maybe it was weird to call such a deadly thing beautiful, but it was the truth. Besides, the most beautiful things were always the deadliest too.

But once Tessa noticed that Loki was serious she shook her head, crossing her hands in front of her.

„I never fought with something like that, Loki. Maybe I should stick to the stuff I know, that would make it a lot easier for me, and therefore a lot less annoying for you.", Tessa continued, still not able to hide her curiosity.

After an inviting nod from Loki's side, she took the blade out of his hand, swinging it around a bit, testing it. Was she able to fight with something like that?

Tessa suddenly felt like she was dressing up for a Halloween party, the sword in her hand was light and easy to lead, it did indeed remind her a bit on the knife she carried with her all the time.

Maybe she could work with that. She was not sure what to do with it though, how it worked, how she could use it, so she wanted to give it back to Loki.
