Time passed way faster now. Two days. Two days and she would finally leave, not sure how Loki imagined to leave though.
He wasn't talking to her anymore and she rarely was alone to try and talk to him.
Steve was basically not leaving anymore since she woke up, Tony checked up on her from time to time and so did Pepper and Helen.
„You ever miss your army days?", Tessa asked Steve, who was sitting opposite from her.
Only hours after meeting Loki and Tessa picked at the food Steve brought for her earlier, not really hungry.
„I miss a lot of things from... back then. And I enjoyed being part of the army, but the best and worst thing is, the fight is never over. I thought about going back to it, but nowadays it is so different, just like anything really... ", he shrugged his shoulders. „And I have a team here. That is what really matters, having people and a cause to keep fighting. I found that.", Steve explained, sounding convinced of what he was saying.
And it actually made sense to Tessa, he was right somehow with all the stuff he said. It was weird, but Tessa found herself agreeing with him more and more.
Seriously? That is what you believe?
'Ah, there you are. How do you plan to get out of here? I'll leave in two days and I can hardly say I would rather stay here after I convinced them to let me go. What are we going to do?'
I think of something. In the meantime, enjoy your time with... the other soldier. You seem to be rather fond of him.
'Wait... are you... are you jealous?'
Do I have a reason for that? It is not that you are thinking about how good and right my enemy is, even though you swore to be entirely loyal to me and my cause. Oh wait, it is exactly like that.
He kind of sounded... hurt. And Tessa was not sure how to react to that.
Just because Steve had a point didn't mean she would switch sides, did she really need to spell that out for Loki? She conveniently forgot for him how he stabbed her and that wasn't proof enough for her loyalty towards him? What did he want?
You know I can hear your thoughts, I know you are not switching sides. I am just bored and... frankly, I am only searching for a distraction. I wanted to see what your mind is going to come up with. And of course, it is the stab. I already apologized for it, Tess.
'And you really think, that will solve it? It's not just that you stabbed me. You left me at Tony's house, very well knowing I would not be able to leave, which kind of was your point, wasn't it? They could've just... I don't know, decided I'm not worth the risk. Kill me, leave me to die or whatever -'
Do you really think that? I took a calculated risk. People like Iron Man or Captain Righteousness here, they do not leave people to die if they believe they can save them. Except that they could not know you are not one to be saved, am I right? You would rather die than admitting you need help.
'Takes one to know one, I guess. Let's not talk about this. We need to get out of here as soon as possible, they said Thor will take you back to Asgard... what can I do to free you?'
Get down here, take away my chains and I will bring us out.
'Very funny. How do you imagine me to do that?'
Well. You are not a hostage anymore and since he seems so fond of you... I mean, I can see the way he is looking at you and I am not as oblivious to it as you are apparently. You could use that to your advantage. Do whatever it is that you mortals do on occassions like this, and while you are at it, give him a little more of your... attention. And he will trust you, sleep away afterwards and then you get down here and do as I told you.
