there was something profoundly intimidating about corporate buildings. in New York they always had a holier than thou air about them, as if the thing that happened inside them were much to complicated for mere mortals to understand. here in LA there was a fun atmosphere about office spaces, at least this one. given it was a shared work space, there were several different styled ones. Donald has suggested the next one over (where beanbags replaced chairs and had those little coffee tables to put computers or notepads on) but Nina finally decided on this one, both parts casual and serious with its colorful cushioned chairs and clear glass table.
"hey, girl." Donald, known to most as childish gambino, arrived and gave her an educated kiss on the cheek. "how are you?"
though unlikely, the pair had met during a panel to discuss how gun violence increased and how that related to the rising levels of intolerance. after that they had dinner together at the hotel's restaurant where a great idea was formed.
"other than nearly crying out of nervousness? I'm peachy keen."
"relax, the minister teaser is ready to screen, all of our possible directors have confirmed availability to work on this and you could probably give this presentation in pig latin if you chose to."
Marina knew that she could be very high strung most of the time, hence why her company was usually very laid back. And Donald took the prize on that, he was a chill kind of serious person and together they would kick this executives asses.
"that's true. I'll just get some coffee and we can call them in."
this project was a labor of love for everyone involved so far and they knew it was going to shift conversations.
"Good afternoon, ladies and sirs. today we are going to discuss what is America."
( I'm low key giving up on this bc no one votes or comments? But at the same time I love this story?)
