Elvin woke up with Kristy on top of him. "Hey, love, what are you doing?"
"I need it," she said. "Please?"
"Need what?" He asked.
"She's thirsty," Zoey said. "Kristy is pregnant, so she needs a lot of blood since the baby takes it half of it."
"Great," he winced as Kristy pierced his skin with her fang. "Okay, easy, calm down."
"She'll need more than your blood," Zoey said. "I'll try to catch a rabbit; I'll be right back and don't let her drink too."
Elvin nodded. "Hurry," he said.
Elvin let Kristy drink a bit longer before he pushed her away and held her from behind. "Calm down, Kristy, I get it, your thirsty, but I can't let you drink from me anymore; you'll make me weak or killed me."
"My body feels weird," she said. "I want more, please just a little."
"No," he kissed her cheek. "Zoey will bring you something."
She sighed. "It's frustrating feeling this way; I want to kill Bethy, she turned me into this."
"You don't mean that, right?" He asked.
"I do," she said. "You have a son, right?"
"Yes," he sighed. "Cassius Elvin, I wish I could get him away from Bethy now; she probably hid him away so by from me."
"You will find him," she said.
Elvin's stroke hair.
"I'm back," Zoey walked over, holding a brown rabbit in her mouth. "It's barely alive, all you have to do is sink your teeth, Kristy. I know you don't want too, I can see your expression, but your baby depends on you."
She sighed. "Okay."
Elvin grabbed the rabbit and kissed it. "It's an adult male, thank you." He held it up against Kristy's lips. She bit into the neck; Elvin listened as the rabbit heart slowed down; he said a prayer. He learned from Chiyo that all the animals are essential, and when hunted down for food, he always says a prayer and guides them into their next life.
Kristy pulled away and sighed. "Done," she wiped her mouth.
"We can use the meat," he said. "We can't let it go to waste."
Kristy nodded. "Thank you, and you too, Zoey."
"You look better," Zoey said. "Don't let this happen again; your baby needs a lot of nutrients. So eat everything that Elvin gets you."
"I will," Kristy smiled.
Elvin stood. "I'll do everything; you can go and rest or take a dive."
Kristy stood. "I'm going to wash up; come on, Zoey."
Elvin smiled and went into the cave and took out a dagger. He didn't know Kristy needed that much blood; if he's not careful, she could end drinking from a human.
It didn't take long to make rabbit stew; with Zoey's help, he was able to find some ingredients. And the stew turned out good.
"Wow," Kristy smiled. "It tastes good; I didn't know you could cook."
"I learn, trying to survive this past year," he said.
She smiled. "Well, I could get used to this, you cooking instead of me. I mean, I can cook too, but I feel lazy."
He chuckled. "Don't get used to it; I won't be cooking all the time. And I'm not going to let you lazy around."
She pout.
