Naomi's POV
I inserted the key to my front door and quickly walked in. The house seemed empty, but the messy couch said otherwise.
I ran to my room and dropped my things until I felt a knock on my door. Walking up to it, I unlocked and opened it. There stood Jordan with a sandwich on a plate. "I thought you might be hungry."
"Thanks... wanna come in?" I signaled for him to walk in as he laid the plate on my table, facing the other direction.
So...how've you been? With the Mena thing and all."
"I've been okay I guess." I tried avoiding eye contact as I sat on my bed.
"Look Nay, I just want to apologize... I should've never—"
"Yeah you shouldn't have." I sighed. "But I shouldn't have either... It's alright I guess."
"No but seriously, I'm sorry about all of it. For not coming back. It's just, we were kids you know. And I didn't think, I mean I never honestly thought the feelings were reciprocated so I never felt it would've been good for me to come back."
"It's fine I get it. I just, I don't get why you never called...like why now? What changed?"
"I guess I just got the balls to do it...I really am sorry though Naomi. I would never purposely hurt you. I hate myself for being so stupid and inconsiderate."
I bit my lip as I looked back at him. "It's alright... I mean not the, you broke my relationship part, but somewhere deep in my heart I guess...I forgive you."
Jordan sighed in relief as he reached in for a hug. I hugged him back tightly. "I really missed you Jordy."
"I missed you most Chub." He pulled back and put out his pinky finger.
"To forever being best friends." I looked at him and hesitated. "Forever is real this time, I swear."
"Cross your heart and hope to die?"
"Cross my heart and hope to die." He repeated as I extended my pinky and intertwined it with his. We both couldn't help but giggle. It felt like we were taken back 10 years. "Alright so are you ready?"
I looked back at him confused. "Ready for what?"
Suddenly a pillow hit my face. "Pillow fight!"
"Shit Jordan that hurt." I pouted as I put my hand on my face. "But not more than this!" I hit him back strongly.
"Hey that's not fair!" We both continued to wrestle until I was on top of him and grabbed his hands.
"Say you'll surrender."
"Never."
"Say it now or I'm never making you pancakes ever again."
"Shit not the pancakes!" Jordan rolled his eyes playfully. "Alright alright, you win this round."
I couldn't help but laugh. "I always knew I was the superior pillow fighter."
"You think?" He said as he looked up at me. Out of nowhere, an awkward silence arose.
I pressed my lips together as I removed myself from being on top of him and sat on the side.
"You wanna know something hilarious?""Enlighten me with your hilariousness."
"Nasim wanted me to get in bed with you to move on from Mena."
Jordan scrunched his nose. "That's... wrong...and mean how do you play with feelings like that?"
