Naomi's POV
I quickly ran downstairs as I heard my parents come in. "Mom!"
"Geeze Naomi you scared me." She jumped. "What's going on?"
"I just, I wanted to talk for a minute." Her expression changed.
"About what?"
"It's kind of stupid I mean, like its not a now thing but I just I kind of want to—"
"Honey you're not making sense." My mom chuckled. "Just tell me, I'm sure its not stupid."
I took in a deep breath. "Okay... how did you know when you wanted to marry dad?"
"Ahh well that's easy, your dad and I, we had our rough patches, but for some reason, nothing and no one could break us apart. The love we had for one and another was unbreakable. But I'd say I knew one day when we were walking in the park, we got to this small spot from where you could see all the stars. He grabbed my hand and told me he loved me, and we'd said it before but for some reason, in that moment,I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him."
"Wow, that's beautiful."
"It is isn't it?" She smiled. "Why are you asking though?"
"Oh no reason, I was just curious I guess."
"He's a good guy. You're still kids though so don't get ahead of yourselves." I rolled my eyes playfully.
"So, Nas invited me over to spend the weekend at her house. Can I go?" I bit my inner lip nervously.
"This weekend?"
"Yeah like from this afternoon to tomorrow."
"I don't know Nay, don't you have school work to catch up on?"
"I'm always doing school work mom, look I promise I'll get ahead. Can I go, please!".
My mom took a pause. "If your father says you can then fine."
"Seriously?" I groaned to my mom who made a face.
"Go on, ask him."
"Fine." I walked over to my dads' office. I gently knocked on the door as he sat reading some things. "Dad?"
He turned back to look at me. "Nay? What's up?"
"Well I was talking to Nasim and she invited me over to her house for a sleepover this weekend..."
"And...?"
"And I was wondering if you let me go."
My dad looked at me and pressed his lips. "Ask your mother."
"But mom said to ask you."
"Me? I don't know Naomi, don't you have school work?"
"Come on Bubba! Please!"
My dad hesitated but he nodded. "Alright, but I better not hear anything from your school that you're falling behind!"
I rushed to hug him. "You won't I promise, thank you thank you!"
"Sure thing pumpkin." My dad chuckled as
I ran out of the office.
"He said yes!" I screamed as I ran upstairs to get ready.
"That room better be spotless before you leave Naomi Grace."
"It will!"
I tidied up my room as quickly as possible and got my things ready, I suppose a small bag with a few things was enough for a short weekend. Although after thinking for a while I packed a nice dress, my swimsuit of course and my favorite sweater in case it got too cold. Quickly I showered and shaved. I slipped on some leggings with a cute shirt my leather jacket and a scarf. Suddenly my phone vibrated.
