Look Beside You (Completed)

Chapter 1

Dreamboats’ Diner. A very popular restaurant known for its fine-looking owners. The famous duo, Tae and Kimmon.

Many would go there to eat delicious Thai cuisines but most of the customers were there to swoon over Tae or Kim or both. But not for Copter.

Copter was there not because of the owners, but because of one of the waiters. Tee.

“For the nth time Cop, I will not allow you to work here. Aren’t you busy with your studies?” Tae scolded his little brother who had been pestering him for over a month already.

Tae liked to spoil his brothers, Copter and Bas, but what Cop was asking for has zero percent chance of getting approved.  Copter is a top student in his university, and a medicine student at that. If Copter was to work at his restaurant, he’ll probably forget what sleep even is knowing that Copter’s the type of person that gives his all at whatever he does.

Plus, Tae didn’t want to get killed by their parents. The day that Copter would start to work at his restaurant would be the day that Tae would get to hear his friends’ eulogies.

“You’re kinda disturbing the customers, guys. Tone it down, will ya?” Kimmon butted in on the siblings’ dispute and glared at the younger one with annoyance. Yes, Kimmon was getting annoyed already. If he would get a penny for every time that he thought of sewing Tae’s younger brother's lips, he’d be a millionaire by now.

Tae massaged his temples and closed his eyes to forget even just for a while that his little brother was pouting because of him. “Please Cop, just focus on your studies.”

“But—”

Before Copter could speak any further, Kimmon took him by his hand and grabbed him outside. Copter grumbled at how he wasn’t still finished speaking with his brother but Kimmon managed to get him out anyway.

“What do you want?!” Copter hollered as he broke free from Kimmon’s grip.

“You… You like Tee, right?”

The question took Copter by surprise. His eyes grew wider as he stood frozen in front of his brother’s friend.

Copter always made sure to stare at Tee for just five seconds. He always made sure to keep at least a two-meter distance from him. And he made sure that no one was around whenever he would look at pictures of Tee on his phone. So how on earth did this guy know?

Kimmon let out a deep sigh as he placed a hand on Copter’s shoulder. “I’m sorry little guy, but Tee likes someone else. So I suggest you stop whatever it is you’re doing.”

Kimmon went back to the restaurant while Copter remained still, his mind still searching for answers on how Kimmon noticed and who’s the bastard that Tee likes.

Being the early bird that he was, Kimmon came in first at the diner the next morning. He went on with his normal routine and everything seemed to be going peacefully until Copter came and marched loudly towards the counter that Kimmon was currently wiping.

“You!” Copter yelled as he placed his hands on his waist and stood on his toes to reach Kimmon’s eye level. But of course, with his height, he failed to do so.

Kimmon thought that Copter struggling in matching his height with him was so cute that a chuckle escaped Kimmon’s mouth.

“What are you laughing at?” Copter asked as he narrowed his eyes at Kimmon.

Resisting the urge to laugh louder, Kimmon didn’t answer Copter’s question. Instead, he asked him “What do you want?”

“An apology.” Copter answered, his voice firm.

Kimmon raised his brow. “An apology for what?”

“For calling me little guy last night.”

Ok. That was it. Kimmon couldn’t stop it any longer. Kimmon laughed, a lot, but Copter remained silent.

“Judging by your reaction, I presume I won’t be getting an apology for that. That’s fine with me. Yet you still need to apologize but for another reason.” Copter spoke.

“What’s that?” Kimmon asked as he wiped a tear that was hanging on his eye.

“For telling me to stop. You can’t tell me what to do and who to like. I don’t care if Tee likes someone else. I like Tee and I won’t stop liking him. Not now. Not ever. Don’t act as if you know my feelings better than I do!” Copter bellowed and stormed out of the diner.

Kimmon watched Copter’s figure slowly disappear and murmured “What a stubborn boy.”
