Chapter 8

Sweat rolled on Tae’s and Tee’s faces as Kimmon glared at them intensely. Kim sat on the couch with his arms crossed as the other two kneeled in front of him. Tae and Tee felt like their parent discovered them doing something wrong. But Kimmon was scarier than a parent, Tee knew that.

“Before I ask what on earth is Tae doing in here and why the hell are Tae’s clothes scattered on the floor, I want to know first who were you talking to yesterday in a café near Cop’s university.” Kimmon asked as he raised an eyebrow at Tee.

Tee furrowed his brows as he wondered who Kimmon meant.

“The tall and handsome dude.” Kimmon added.

“Ah. You mean May’s boyfriend?”

Kimmon shut his eyes and inhaled deeply as he felt his blood pressure rise. “The last I heard, Tae was May’s boyfriend.”

“She cheated on me.” Tae butted in. “Again.”

A big “I told you so” was written on Kimmon’s face and he was conflicted whether to scold or comfort Tae. But he decided to do both later.

“And why were you talking to him, Tee?” Kimmon asked.

“I just saw him and May kissing in the café, which was totally gross, so I immediately stepped into the scene and told him that May was cheating on him.” Tee replied as he stuck out his chest and lifted his chin, as if what he did was the best thing he’s ever done. But as soon as he met Kimmon’s eyes raging with anger, he instantly lowered his eyes.

“And what if May slapped you? Or if her boyfriend punched you?” Kimmon asked, almost getting up from his seat, but stopped as soon as Tee uttered an “I’m sorry.”

Kimmon sighed for what felt like the hundredth time today. “It’s not your fault. I swear I’m gonna shave that girl’s hair when I see her.”

At that statement, Tae and Tee laughed. Judging by how scary Kimmon is whenever he gets angry, a bald May could be possible.

Kimmon’s heart felt lighter as he saw his two friends laughing. Finally, everything was back to normal. But that didn’t make Kimmon forget the situation on hand.

“So what is Tae doing here?” Kimmon asked, transforming his friends’ beaming faces to gloomy ones. “I assume that the two of you were drinking?” Kim added as he saw empty bottles of alcohol beside the shoe rack.

Tae bit his lip while Tee rubbed his neck. Both were sweating buckets.

Kimmon felt himself palpitating as he saw his friends’ reaction. If ever his hunch was right, Kimmon would probably collapse. He’s not yet ready for this. Not just yet. Kimmon swallowed and slowly said “Please don’t tell me something happened between you two.”

Tae and Tee’s eyes widened and denied in a flash. “No!”

Kimmon let out a huge sigh of relief as he placed a hand on his chest.

“We just drank, since Tae was heartbroken, until he got too wasted so I let him stay here. Nothing happened, really.” Tee explained, his face red as a ripe strawberry.

“Fine. I’ll believe the two of you. But I'm still pissed off. How could the two of you not show up at the diner? I can’t believe that you drunkards had not thought of me at all!” Kimmon exploded which made the two almost tear up out of fear.

Tae’s fans filled the diner as he started to work after Kim’s nagging, and of course, Tee’s fan was present as well.

“Is Tee fine now?” Copter asked as he stood beside Kimmon, watching Tee serve the customers’ food.

“For now, he is.” Kimmon replied.

“That’s good to hear.”

Kimmon watched the diner and smiled at how vibrant it was again. His two friends were smiling and everything seemed to be well.

“You look happy.” Copter said, smiling at how Kimmon was smiling too.

“I do?”

“Absolutely.”

Copter was right. Kimmon felt so happy that he couldn’t contain himself anymore, resulting to him pinching Copter’s cheeks.

“Owch! That hurts!” Copter squealed. “What was that for?”

“I just felt like doing it.” Kimmon beamed contagiously, which made Copter smile despite the pain that he felt on his cheeks.

“Cop? What are you doing here?” Tae asked as he saw his brother. Tae’s brows drew together as he wondered when and how his friend and his brother got close with each other.

“I was just passing by. Anyways, I’ll be heading home now, I’ve got a load of assignments waiting for me.” Copter replied as he left his brother and his friend, and walked towards his crush to say goodbye.

As soon as Copter left the diner, Tae invited Kimmon out for a talk.

“What is it?” Kimmon asked as he closed the door behind him.

The two were outside the diner and Kimmon felt that Tae was about to say something scary. Tae was hesitating to talk and the troubled look on his face made Kimmon curious and at the same time scared.

“What is it Tae?” Kimmon asked again.

“I think…” Tae started as he rubbed the nape of his neck. “I think I like…”

“Darn it Tae spit it out.”

“I think I like Tee.”

Kimmon froze. At that confession, three questions popped on Kimmon’s mind.

Then, does that mean Tae and Tee already have mutual feelings for each other?

What about… me?

What about Copter?

Copter…

“Kim?” Tae asked as he snapped his fingers in front of Kimmon’s face.

“Huh?”

“I said, I like Tee.”

“Why?”

Tae bit his lip before answering Kim. “I… don’t know… Whenever Tee’s around, I feel like everything’s going to be fine. Last night, if Tee wasn’t around to comfort me… I could’ve been lying pitifully on the streets… And ever since last night, Tee’s voice got stuck in my head. And whenever my eyes meet his… I can’t help but smile. And—”

“Okay stop. I get it man, stop being so cheesy.” Kimmon said as he felt himself blushing from Tae’s cringe worthy confession.

“But I’m scared, Kim. Do you happen to know if Tee likes someone else?”

Kimmon internally facepalmed and fought the urge to throw a bucket of cold water to Tae and say “Wake up Tae! The person that Tee likes is you, dumbass!”

“Tae…” Kimmon started as he placed a hand on his dense friend’s shoulder. “Just man up, and confess your feelings. Don’t regret like I did.”

A/N: Hello guys!!!! I’m super super sorry that it took me a while to update this. I’m really bombarded with school projects right now and I haven’t even finished them all so I think it’ll take me a while to update the next one again. I’m really sorry 🙏 Plus, I’m kinda sad right now because SBFive is going to have a concert here in the Philippines but I can’t go because I live far from Manila 😭😭😭 Like I have to go on a two-hour plane ride for me to get there and I can’t go because I am a broke student who doesn’t have money to buy plane tickets and concert tickets hahahaha I guess I’ll just have to watch videos from the concert 😂
