Chapter 4

Kimmon’s hurt expression was stuck on Copter’s mind.

“If he really likes Tee, why didn’t he confess to him? Maybe Tee doesn’t like prince charming type of boys. Then does that mean, I have a chance?” Copter mumbled to himself as he was on his way home.

Kimmon insisted that Copter have his lunch at the diner but Copter was too bothered that he wanted to take a rest. Copter expected to come home with a list of Kimmon’s weaknesses but he found none. Or maybe, Tee was his weakness.

“Watch out!”

Copter’s eyes grew wider as he felt his wrist being grabbed strongly. One second he saw a fast approaching bicycle and the next second he saw a gorgeous looking man whose eyes were filled with worry.

“Are you alright?” Tee asked but heard no answer.

Copter got lost in Tee’s eyes. Tee returning his phone being the first, this was the second time Copter got the chance to look at Tee directly into his eyes.

“Copter?”

“Huh?” Coming back to his senses, Copter remembered that he almost got hit with a bicycle. “Oh um, I’m fine. Thank you for saving me. Again.” Copter said with a timid smile, his eyes wandering around until it landed on their hands. Tee was holding on to him. Copter could feel his heart pounding rapidly and his cheeks turning hot like lava.

Tee giggled at Copter and answered him a “no problem” and Copter felt like he could die any minute from now.

And that was it. Copter had decided. He decided not to give up on Tee. Whatever Kimmon’s problem was, Copter wouldn’t concern himself with it anymore. The picture of Kimmon’s wounded expression was completely erased on Copter’s mind and got replaced with Tee’s lovely smile and Copter would do anything to see it every day.

It was already ten in the evening and Kimmon was closing up the diner, Tee waiting for him outside.

“I wonder why Tae didn’t show up today.” Kimmon said as he finished closing and stood next to Tee who was staring at the starless sky.

“Wanna hear a horror story?” Tee asked.

“What? Tae’s smile is haunting you again?” Kimmon replied in jest and looked at Tee who didn’t find his reply funny at all. Kimmon bit his lip and turned his gaze to the ground. “What happened?”

“Tae got back with his ex-girlfriend.”

Kimmon froze, his heart slowly squeezing. Kimmon was not mad, not at all. He was worried. Not just for Tee, but for Tae as well.

Kimmon saw how devastated Tae was when she broke up with him. She was Tae’s first girlfriend yet she shamelessly cheated on him. Tae knew what she was up to but decided to ignore it, telling himself that maybe he lacked to show her enough love. Yet on their first anniversary, she broke up with him. She broke up with him coldheartedly, even blaming Tae that it was all his fault their relationship came to ruins.

But now she’s back?

“I saw them this afternoon when I was taking a break outside. She cried and begged for his forgiveness saying that she wanted him back.” Tee uttered with a trembling voice.

Kimmon heard Tee sigh deeply afterwards and his heart squeezed once more. Never did he wish to see Tee get hurt.

“I hope she doesn’t make the same mistake again.” Tee spoke and gave Kimmon a weak smile.

Kimmon clenched his jaw as he saw a tear fall from Tee’s heartrending eyes.

After one tear, came another. Until it was out of control. Kimmon’s heart ached for his friend. Gathering all the strength that he had left, Kimmon embraced his friend, wishing it would be enough to make all the pain go away. But it wasn’t.

It was a peaceful Saturday and Copter was making breakfast for his brothers who love to sleep in, weekend or not. Their parents were out of town so Copter was humming while flipping the pancakes. Away from home parents meant no nagging to clean the house and Copter love days like these.

Just when Copter was about to flip the last pancake, the doorbell rang. Copter quickly turned off the stove and went outside to see who it was. And to his surprise, it was none other than his brother’s friend.

Copter had seen Kimmon visit Tae a few times already so it wasn’t really surprising but unlike any other visits where Kimmon came smiling, today he was frowning. A scary one at that.

“What are you doing here?” Copter asked as he opened the gate for Kimmon but he didn’t answer. Instead, Kimmon stormed inside without even looking at Copter. But Copter saw Kimmon’s gaze and it was the complete opposite of his usual lovely and charming one.

Kimmon went straight to Tae’s room and as he opened the door, Tae was already awake. He was just sitting on his bed, staring at the wall blankly.

Kimmon closed the door behind him and sat next to Tae. “I heard you got back with May.”

Tae nodded slowly and lowered his eyes. “I did.”

“Please don’t tell me you have forgotten what she did to you.”

“She said she was sorry Kim. She said that I should give her one more chance.”

Kimmon clenched his fist. “And you listened to her? After all the lies she threw to you, you listened to her?”

Tae sighed and ran his hands through his hair. “She was crying Kim. She cried miserably in front of me. What do you expect me to do?”

Tae was too kind for his own good. Knowing that he’ll just hurt himself again, Tae forgave her. Tae was so kind that it pissed Kimmon off.

Before Kimmon couldn’t control himself any further, he decided to leave.

He didn’t give up on Tee for this.

Kimmon who suddenly barged in with a scary face puzzled Copter the most and when Kimmon got out from Tae’s room, his face became ten times scarier.

“Hey, where are you going?” Copter asked, following Kimmon to their front yard.

“Market.” Kimmon answered.

“Hey, wait up!” Copter exclaimed that made Kimmon stop on his tracks and turn around to face Copter.

“I’m in a bad mood, little guy. So it’s better if you—”

“I don’t care. But I just want to inform you that I’ll be the one who’ll make Tee happy.”

Copter stared at Kimmon’s eyes with sincerity and Kimmon felt it. The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds and didn’t say any word. Only the cars that passed and the birds that chirped were heard until Kimmon spoke.

“Then, I’ll help you with that.”

A/N: Hi hello!!! This chapter was kinda heavy for me to write and I do hope you guys won't hate Tae for this. Also, I had no idea what name I should use for the girl so I just wrote what came second on my mind. (The first name that came to my mind was mine and there's no way that I'm gonna use it coz this character hurt Tae and Tee 😣😂) Also, I'm sorry for the lack of KimCop moments on this chapter. Please do wait patiently for this couple 🙏😄
