Harper’s POV
“So curly hair or straight?” Sahara asks, as she bunches her hair up around her face and looks in her vanity mirror.
“I like that thing you do where it is curly yet messy,” I explain, hoping she understands what I mean. By the nod and grin she gives me I assume she does so I start curling the bottoms of my long, blonde hair. I finish my hair and go in Sahara’s bathroom to do my makeup; Mr. Irwin’s CEO dinners are not a joke. If you are not dressed in your A game you will not be allowed in.
“So when are Luke and Ashton supposed to be here to pick us up?” I yell out to Sahara who is still in her bedroom. I don’t understand why Luke and Ashton are picking us up when I know they have both been at Ashton’s house all day, so I feel as if it’d be easier to just meet them there.
‘They said they’d be here at 7, so like thirty minutes,” Sahara yells back. I check my phone and see that we only have about thirty minutes left and I still don't even have my dress on. Sahara and I have been at her house all day trying to get ready and I am still not even dressed. I groan as I walk back out into the bedroom and grab my dress which is hanging on her closet door, before walking back into the bathroom and quickly changing.
“What do you think? Good enough for a party?” I ask, walking out and twirling around for Sahara to seas I grab my black wedges and place on my feet.
“Damn, Luke is going to be all over you tonight,” she laughs, finishing her own makeup and grabbing her dress to change into. After she changes clothes and adds her white studded pumps to her outfit and running her fingers through her hair to build more volume we walk down the stairs to wait for the boys. Luckily, we don’t have to wait long because as soon as we make it down the steps there is a honk outside.
“Hey baby, looking good,” Ashton whistles, his eyes only on Sahara as we walk outside and see Luke and he grinning back at us through the sunroof of a very large black limo. Ashton has always been the expressive in his feelings between the two boys. While Luke can be amazingly sweet sometimes, Ashton was an incredible boyfriend to Sahara. He took her on surprise dates at least two times a week, told her she was gorgeous all the time, was never afraid to tell anyone how he felt about her, and just always had this look like she was the only girl in the world. Luke and I, on the other hand, were more spontaneous, and just like best friends knowing that we both loved each other without saying it as often as the other two. Maybe it was just because Ashton and Sahara were much more mature acting than Luke and I.
“Damn, they weren’t playing around,” Sahara whispers to me with awe in her voice. We’ve never been picked up for one of Mr. Irwin’s parties in a limo before. I let out a low whistle as the driver comes around the car and opens the car door allowing Sahara and I to slide in.
“My girl looks amazing,” Luke whispers seductively in my ear as I slide in beside him. I give out a little sigh before smiling as I feel his arm wrap around me, lingering on my exposed lower back before his fingers wrap around my waist and pull me into him.
“You don’t look too bad yourself,” I grin, glancing over to see that he is in a crisp black tux with a white button up and a black bow tie to go with it. He knows I prefer bow ties over ties. I look over to the other seat and see Ashton and Sahara already making out, their hands all over each other. I still can’t believe she said Luke and I had more sex than her and Ash.
“So, excited for this beach house tonight?” Luke whispers as I put my legs up over his thighs and lean back into his arm that is now loosely wrapped around my neck. The four of us haven’t stayed at the beach house in years, maybe since freshman year, so of course I was excited.
