-later that day, around 7:30-
Ace and the others waved Leo off. They were headed to their show in Toronto. As they disappeared through the rift, Leo twiddled his thumbs.
He was trapped inside his own mind, thoughts racing through the fibers of his brain. The image of D spun like a wheel in his brain. Drenched in sweat and vulnerable.
"What's wrong with me? I-I haven't felt this way since Holly.. and the purple glow.. this is all so confusing.." Leo sigh, throwing his hands to his head, holding it as he rubbed his temples roughly.
As Leo skimmed through more articles, his file folder got bigger and bigger. One whole Terabyte of knowledge and how to help.
There was a soft noise at D's door. She nudged herself against it, hoping that soon it would end.
"Leo-" she cried.
Leo looked at her door, his eyes locked on the door handle which was now moving. D opened the door, wearing Leo's shirt and some shorts.
"D are you ok?" Leo asked rushing to her. He held her close as she sweat and shook.
"I can't soothe it.. I can't do anything but lay somewhere. Please I don't know what to do. I never had anyone to explain how it's supposed to work.. all I know is I hate it.." D said clinging to Leo.
She was so vulnerable to him, like they had known each other forever.
"I can explain it. I've read up on it." Leo began.
-one detailed explanation later(don't yell at me I'm lazy)-
D started sobbing uncontrollably as she clung to Leo.
"I can't take this anymore, it's such a pain and I just-" D began.
"Hey, tell you what. Let's lay on the couch, and I'll hold you. Ok?" Leo asked.
"Is that something you are comfortable with, I don't want you to think you have to do it-" D began
"It's ok, I promise." Leo said guiding her to the couch. Leo laid up against the arm rest and motioned to himself. D hesitated before laying with him. She lay down and listened to his heartbeat. It was steady yet almost in a hurry. She wrapped her arms around Leo, closing her eyes. Her legs stopped shaking and she didn't sweat as much. She now smelled strongly of roses.
Leo stroked her hair, softly trailing midway down her back. He smiled and sighed.
"So that light.. does that mean that we are soulmates?" D asked.
"Yeah.. but why rush into things? I want to get to know you through and through so I can better myself on how to nurture and thrive with you.. but that's just me.." Leo began.
"I just, your family.. I didn't want to openly assume-" D began.
"Hey, it's ok I get it. I was the same about you and yours. I figured time can heal what I can't. But if I can help at all I want you to know you can come to me." Leo said softly.
D looked up at Leo. Tears threatened to drop from her eyes as she blinked.
"You promise?" She asked.
"I promise." Leo said smiling softly.
D sat herself up and held her mouth. She quickly ran to the faucet and turned on the water. She burped causing huge flames to emit from her mouth. The water quickly put it out. She walked back into the living room only to be met half way by Leo.
"Want to go into my room?" D asked.
"Sure.. you'd probably be more comfortable anyway." Leo said turning off the lights. D left her lamp in her room on. Leo noticed a strange object in the floor, d kicked it under the bed and blushed.
"Hey, it's fine. You gotta do what you gotta do. " Leo said shrugging it off.
D and Leo both cuddled while chatting about themselves. Their taste in different subjects like food and music and tv variety all run in the same direction.
They talked for hours until D began slowly heating back up. Her face was flushed with a bright red.
"Are you Alright?" Leo asked.
"This stupid whatever it is won't go away.." D whined.
"Do you want me to step out?" Leo asked.
"I want you to stay.. but I don't want to hurt you.. what if I get out of my own control? I could never forgive myself if I hurt you.." D began.
"It's ok D.. I'll stay." He said smiling softly.
"Leo you know my better judgement is clouded! What if-" D began questioning.
"D, whatever happens.. just happens." Leo sigh. He held her close, hoping to soothe her without getting serious.
D shook her head and threw herself into the floor, she held her head as her horns grew longer, both reaching the same length. A tail poked from her lower back, extending to around five feet long. Scales formed from her forehead down to her nose and on the tops of her arms and legs. Two wings popped from her back, folding so they wouldn't rip the shirt.
Leo's eyes sparkled, he swallowed the lump in his throat. D's eyes were catlike and purple.
She paused, getting up."Don't look at me! I'm a monster-" D cried. Leo snatched her wrist and pulled her back to him, hugging her.
"No you aren't, you are far from it. You're so sweet and compassionate.. you aren't a monster D. Don't talk like that.." Leo reasoned with her, holding her close.
D looked at Leo with clouded eyes. She looked at Leo's lips. Slightly chapped but soft. She cried and Leo wiped her huge tears.
"Hey, it's ok.." Leo said wiping the continuous stream of tears.
D hugged Leo.
"You really think that?" D asked.
"I know it.." Leo said smiling.
D reached up and kissed Leo, hoping he'd return the favor. And he did. He hesitated however, wondering to himself if he was dreaming. D hugged Leo tighter, hoping he didn't mind. But he didn't mind one bit of it.
