Chapter 18: soft dragon, warm dragon

Leo watched D as she climbed onto his bed and then up to Leo's face.

"I really liked your song.. and I thought you sounded great.. even if you don't win.. you'll always be my number one.." D said smiling a big and goofy grin.

D sat beside Leo and sigh. D held his hand tight, intertwining their fingers. Leo smiled and shook his head.

"You're so wholesome. What the hell.." Leo chuckled.

D pulled Leo back in for a kiss, hoping to finish what was interrupted. And Leo was willing to let her so long as they made sure the door was locked.

Leo and D picked back up where they left off, kissing each other with a burning passion. D smiled knowing Leo was at peace. She sandwiched Leo's face in her hands and brushed her thumb against his face.

"I'm all yours.." she said smiling.

"I'm glad. Because I'm not very good at sharing.." Leo said kissing D's neck tenderly.

"I should go into my room before the others get suspicious.." D began.

"Ok doll.. feel free to pop in whenever." Leo said smiling. D kissed him a final time, exiting the room swiftly.

Leo put on his pajama pants and didn't bother putting in a shirt. He walked into the bathroom, readying a shower as he shut the door. Leo now alone, realized just how excited D could make him. His heart raced at the though of her. He played the clips of them in the cave, smiling a dirty smile as he washed his hair under the warm water. Leo kept watching and listening, smiling like an idiot as he did so.

He paused, shaking his head.

"God.. I've smothered myself in her." He chuckled.

Leo was out of the shower as quick as he got in, drying off and putting his loose pajama pants on.

Leo turned the tv off and laid in his bed, playing some quiet rain sounds, he found himself drifting to sleep. Upon entering sleep, he saw D shaking and crying. He rushed to her, seeing what was wrong.

"D are you ok?" Leo asked.

"Darling! Oh my darling Leo.." she cried.

"What is it baby?" He asked.

"You need to wake up before you forget how.." she said pushing Leo.

Leo jerked awake, clutching his chest. He turned on his lamp and sat up straight. He watched as his bedroom door was pushed open. He found D who was in tears and distressed.

"D? Are you ok?" Leo asked.

"I had a weird nightmare.. I can't go back to sleep.." she began.

Leo pat the place beside him and watched her rush to him. She wore only one of Leo's shirts and her panties, her hair a mess.

"What happened in your nightmare baby?" Leo asked wrapping his strong, protective arms around her.

"I had a nightmare that we were at a show and they all booed us and you snatched the mic and told everyone that I worked my ass off for this and then you heard someone in the crowd say something you didn't like- I have no idea what was said, but you called them out and he shot you and you died in my arms Leo. We can't go back tomorrow night.." d began as tears dropped like a faucet down her face.

"Woah, woah their angel.. calm down. I'm not going anywhere. If you want me to stay here tomorrow, then I'll stay here.." Leo said rubbing her back

D clung to Leo, not wanting to let him go. He held d in his arms and threw the blanket over her. Leo turned the lamp off, pulling D closer to his body.

"Look, I'm not going anywhere. And I'm not going to die on you. I'm gonna be here forever and always." Leo said rubbing circles into D's back. He waited and listened for D's soft snores.

"Sing me a lullaby?" D asked.

"Um.. ok.." Leo said thinking of a good one.

"A gentle breeze over hush-a-bye mountain,
Softly blows over lullaby bay.
It fills the sails of boats that are waiting,
Waiting to sail your worries away.
It isn't far to hush-a-bye mountain, and your boat waits down by the quay.
The wings of night so softly are sighing.

Wave good bye to cares of the day..
And watch your boat from hush-a-by mountain..
sail far ways from lullaby bay." Leo chimed.

D was out cold before he could finish, she snore softly and unconsciously clung to Leo.. Leo smiled, snuggling up to D, he slowly went back to sleep. Staying asleep through the rest of the night.
