Leo pushed his way through thickets and shrubs alike until the two arrived at this shelter of D's. It was underground but so well hidden that it took them an hour to find the entrance.

D softly guided Leo down the stairs, shutting the hatch behind them.

"Just know I haven't been here for awhile. But it's a big cave that I used to live in before ace found me. It's not much though, so don't be too disappointed." D sigh as they neared the entrance.

Huge piles of shiny objects littered on corner of the cave. The cave itself was made entirely out of different geodes. Jewels littered the floor around the pile, gleaming with their eternal shine. A stream ran through the cave, dispensing clean water all the way around it, and then down to the other floor.

"This is really cool.." Leo said looking around.

"I was very materialistic when I was younger.." D began, trying to explain herself.

"Hey, you don't have to explain yourself. I thinks it's cool. And those geodes are really cool too.." Leo said smiling.

"This water isn't just regular water.. this was my home when I first got here. I had a friend.. she was a witch. And she placed a few spells over this place so that I'd be as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately, she was burned during the Salem witch trials 200 years later. This water can heal wounds." She said splashing the water into Leo's burned skin.

Leo took the backpack off and set it on the ground.

"What do we do? I mean we are in hiding. But how do you want to pass the time?" Leo asked.

"I was gonna show you the next part. The cave goes deep into the ground." D said with a small smile.

"Alright. Let's see then." Leo said with a chuckle.

"Fair warning. I haven't seen this place in about 3000 years.. so I have no clue about what's down here.." d said as they made their way down to the next part of the cave. D slid down the stairs, looking around the next part.

"This is my nest. I went into hibernation here. I don't hibernate anymore, but I used to sleep for thousands of years at a time.. it's made from the softest material I could find back at home." D said jumping into it.

Leo smelled the nest and paced around it. His face flushed with a cherry hue and his legs buckled. Sweat began to form on his face as he continued to smell the nest.

"Leo.. you ok? You're looking a little pink there.." d began.

She took a big whiff and held her mouth.

Leo's head began to spin and he fell to his knees, losing control of his breathing. Leo tried to stand but was hit with a spell of dizziness.

"W-What's happening.. to me?" Leo asked.

"Oh no.. this is bad.. this is really bad so I'm so sorry.." D began.

Leo shivered and looked up at D with clouded eyes. His brain was screaming at him to kill. He shook his head.

"What's happening?" Leo asked.

"I forgot that you turning to a dragon means you go into a blood fever as well.. I don't have anything to help.." she said nervously.

"What do I do?!" Leo asked nervously.

" stay calm.. getting worked up will only make it worse.." D said trying to hold Leo. Leo held his stomach and gritted his teeth. He wailed in agony as the pain rose from his crotch to his stomach and then back.

"I don't want to hurt you-" Leo began.

"You won't hurt me. Just let me help you Leo! I know what I'm doing.." D said with a soft voice.

"I feel like I'm being ripped apart from the inside.. and I'm being cooked alive," Leo complained. D lay Leo down, using her thighs as a pillow.

Leo ran a high fever, sweating profusely.

"This is all my fault. I'm so sorry Leo.." D cried.

"Don't sweat it.. I asked for it.." Leo reasoned.

D for the first time in a long one, had no idea what to do. Or how to help. Leo scanned through some articles he had saved and slowly came to the realization that he needed to be restrained.

"D.. I need you to find some way to restarting me. Or lock me up or something.. I can't live with hurting you.." Leo reasoned.

"No! I'm gonna help you whether you like it or not!" D argued.

Leo lay still. His head stung sharply and he held it tight. Two horns and a tail sprouted from his body. His tail was long and covered in green scales. His horns were short and a darker cream. He threw himself from the nest and onto the floor of the spacious cave. Leo was on all fours as his horns grew taller. Scales littered his face and arms. Leo's nails grew into claws and his clothes began to get smaller.

Leo cried out as his teeth were now razor sharp. The pain went away from everywhere but his torso. Leo held his stomach as he fell to the cold floor. In desperate need of relief he unbuttoned his jeans.

D rushed to his side, trying her very hardest to make Leo lay back down on the nest.

"Leo. Lay on the nest.. please I'm just trying to help you.." d began.

"I'm losing control!" Leo cried.

"Trust me Leo.." d sigh anxiously.

Leo lay in the nest, balling up. Leo felt his muscles ache and cramp as he tried his hardest to sit still. D stroked Leo's hair, hoping he'd soon be rid of this.

Leo took off his clothes, leaving himself in a pair of boxers.

"I'm burning alive.." Leo gasped.

D thought long and hard.

"There's only one way for this to get less painful for you Leo.." D began.

"I think if I just lay here.. maybe I could wait it out." Leo began.

"That isn't how it works Leo. But if that's what you want to do, then by all means I will support you." D sigh. She devoured his scent, indulging too much in it until she too, was reduced to a blood fever. Leo could smell D's blood fever and looked up at her.

"D.. are you ok?" Leo asked.

"I'm not worried about me." D said holding her mouth.

"But weren't you just in a blood fever the other day?" Leo asked.

"I think yours triggered mine really early.." d said as she went through the same process.

They both lay in their undergarments, vulnerable and being taken hostage by their thoughts.
