Chapter 5 - Date

It was later the afternoon and Maya was busy studying in her room.
It was for the last time today and she was just going through her work.
Instantly she received a text.
She looked at her phone but didn't regonize the number.

U: Picking you up in two hours. Already spoke with your dad. He says it's fine. Be ready at six. J.

Maya immediately knew who it was.
Joshua Matthews.
That's what the J would stand for and he did talk to Shawn this afternoon after Maya had left.
She quickly looked at the clock and saw it was half past four.
She jumped through the shower and washed her hair.
She then blow dried it and looked through her closet.
She wasn't going for something really fancy.
It was probably nothing big.
Just a hang out thing.
Maya grabbed a shirt, a pair of jeans since it was still a little cold and a pair of boots.
She lightly did her make-up and then she brushed her hair.
She looked at it and then she just braided it.
She put on some juwelry and sprayed on some purfume.
She grabbed her jacket and purse then she went to the living room.

"Do you have a date or something?" Katy asked.
"Josh is apparently taking me somewhere. He discussed it with Dad," Maya said.
"We did talk about it. You could do with going out for a bit. We're not trying to replace Riley or your other friends. But it may be a good idea to just get a bit out. And our offer to go to London still stands. Just say when," Shawn said.
"I don't think that is a good idea Dad," Maya said and they heard a knock.
"I'll get it," Shawn said.

"Ah welcome Josh. Come in."
"Thanks Shawn. Evening Mrs Hunter," Josh said and laid his eyes on Maya.
"Hey Maya. You look gorgeous," Josh said as he gave Maya a kiss on her cheek.
"Thank you," Maya said.
"Okay even though Cory isn't here to give you the speech, I will. Take care of her," Shawn said.
"I will. Let's go. I'll have her back before ten," Josh said.
"That's okay. Take your time," Katy said and they were gone.

"She always said she had a crush on a guy a few years older than she. It wasn't more than three years but it was too much for him. Is it him?" Katy asked.
"Yeah it is. But Josh is a nice guy. He'll only treat her like the best. If there is anyone who is more like Cory it's him. You know who they remind me of. Cory and Topanga. Maybe there could be a second Cory and Topanga," Shawn said.
