It was later the evening and Riley did manage to get everyone together. Katy being six and a half months pregnant was surprisingly still giving her all at the bakery and with everything else currently going on Shawn is acting like the perfect father to Maya.
"So what happens after this?" Shawn asked. "We go back to Texas," Lucas said. "And we go back to Einstein Academy," Smackle said. "We have to go back to London in two days," Topanga said. "And then you leave my daughter alone," Katy said. "Ma," Maya said and Katy looked down.
"Looks like that's something uoh have in common with your boyfriend. Josh also calls my grandmother Ma. Learned it from Dad," Riley said and Maya smiled as she looked at her boyfriend which was sitting on a chair right next to her. "Remember that one time when I told you that maybe one day you'll meet a woman as wonderful as Topanga?" Cory asked and Josh smiled. "Yeah, I think I already have," Josh said causing Maya to chuckle. "Okay, enough with the compliments. I'm really glad we got to see each other once again before we have to go on with our lives," Maya said. "We all are," Topanga said.
"Where is your son?" Shawn asked. "With Ava," Topanga said. "Yeah, shame. The poor girl suffered in the beginning," Maya said. "How do you know?" Cory asked. "Maya looks after Ava in the afternoon," Josh said. "Babysitting?" Riley asked. "No, not at all. I just spend some time with her. We were in the same boats with both our fathers leaving at a young age. I'm actually seeing a lot of myself in her," Maya said.

It was later the night and for now Maya and Josh were still at Topanga's. Maya didn't want to night to end yet and neither did Josh. The one thing Maya is grateful for is that after they did talk about it they have been able to talk to each other about anything and everything. School issues, stuff at home, their fears anything basically.
"How you feeling about starting junior year? You must be quite nervous," Josh said. "Just another year of school," Maya said and smiled. "I know you want Riley around longer. You didn't think your paths would separate to quickly," Josh said and Maya softly chuckled. "But sometimes change is good. Look what a change did for us," Maya said. "True," Josh said as he handed Maya a box. "What is it?" Maya asked. "Open it up and see," Josh said.
Maya smiled as she opened the box finding a silver ring. It didn't look like anything she has seen before and right there she felt special.

"Josh, what is this?" Maya asked. "A promise ring. I promise to always be there for you no matter what happens. Even if everything in the world changes my feelings for you would never. I love you," Josh said. "I love you too," Maya said giving Josh a soft kiss.
