I wake in the same dorm room that I have for the past year. The war is over, I should be happy, but I'm not. I still feel that one piece still missing, but there isn't a way to complete it again. Because he's gone. He left me again. I look over to Liam who's still sleeping, I love him sure, but do I?
I go to the balcony, where everything happened, Parker left the note and visited me here. I wait there, trying to will him to appear but he doesn't. I resist the urge to cry and hold in the tears. I refuse to cry over him. I can't do that. I have to act like I don't care anymore. I have to be brave because he would want me to.
I hear the door behind me but I keep staring at the horizon, ignoring whoever it is.
"Marvina. You should really get inside, what is it 25 degrees out here?" Marcus's voice echoes behind me.
"I don't know, but I'm fine. I've always been fine." I try not to sound hurt.
"Marvina?"
"What! Marcus? I said I was fine." I clench my hands.
"Okay, okay." I turn around and he's holding his hands up in surrender.
Now, he probably sees the hurt in my eyes.
"Hey. Hey, it's okay. Uh- I bet mom could give you information?" he suggests.
"How would she know anything about him?" The best thing about my brother is he always knows the problem with me.
"You never know, mom hasn't really told us anything, I think she's hiding something."
"You think?" I try not to get my hopes up.
"You never know," he smirks, "let's go visit our mother today."
I smile and go back inside to change.
