Doubts

Lena had been a just bundle of stress. Ever since attending that meeting with you, she kept doubting her decision. Nothing was set in stone so she could still back out. At around 2PM, you finally messaged her to come over at the same time as yesterday to sign the revised contract. She hesitated before confirming that she was coming over later in the night.

You were still having a hard time understanding why America's richest bachelorette was looking into this. Lena was gorgeous, smart, funny and charming. What else was there to ask for? It also certainly helped that she was a billionaire. It made you start to doubt yourself about going into this contract. You needed the money and she was willing to pay you more than enough for simply just moving in with her. It was a no brainer. So why were you suddenly doubting your decision.

"I don't think I can do this, Kayla. I don't feel bad about taking the money from old rich dudes but taking the money from her just makes me feel guilty."

"Stop. You're not going down that hole again. Lena is exactly what you need. You know she won't try anything without your consent and you saw how much she was willing to pay out for simply moving in with her. Imagine how much money she'll pay you down the road. You need the money, (y/n). What she'll pay will be more than enough to graduate medical school without any debt and even have some left over. Plus she's hot. You'll be making headlines for capturing a Luthor's heart. "

Kayla, your friend that had gotten you into this business had always been your rock. She helped you deal with the men that would get too handsy and was simply always there for her. It's why your turned to her when you started having doubts in the morning.

"I don't care about that but you are right about the money thing. This is a simple business transaction. She's paying me to be her girlfriend and I don't doubt that she'll be respectful towards my wishes."

"See. There you go. As much as I loved our little chat, you should head out. I don't doubt that Lena is early again."

You thanked her for helping you calm down and headed back to your little office. Just as Kayla had said, Lena was already sitting in front of your desk.

"I'm sorry again. I really didn't plan to be so early. I just want to sign this so I could stop being nervous about this whole thing."

You bit your lip, debating with yourself as to whether or not you should try to talk her out of it. She was clearly nervous about the whole thing and no doubt that she would come to regret it within a week.

"If I may Lena, maybe you should rethink this. You're obviously still hesitant about the whole thing and I don't want you to regret signing the contract within the week. Take the night to think it over and if you still want sign it then we'll come back tomorrow night."

You could already hear Kayla telling you how much you were an idiot for doing this but you didn't care. You knew you would be feeling bad if you hadn't at least tried to talk her out of it.

"No. I've had enough to stop myself from going through with it and yet I'm still here. I'd like to sign it now."

"Alright. Feel free to look it over and ask any questions."

You slid the contract over to her, expecting for her to last at least over an hour to read it over. She had other plans as she just skimmed through it and quickly signed. You signed it as well and then placed it in your filing cabinet, under lock and key.

"Don't worry. I'll have them scan as soon as possible and then shred it then so there's no risk of someone breaking in and stealing it."

"Thank you. I trust that the company is professional enough about it."

You gave her a smile and nodded.

"We are. So when did you want me to start packing and moving over to National City?"

"As soon as possible. I've been planning this relocation for a while now and I'm ready to move on with my life. I hate being stuck under my brother's shadow. Surely, this will help get me out from it."

"It will. I'll start packing my things then. Perhaps, when we arrive over there we can figured out more about how you want this to go. Like figure out what we want to tell people how long we've been dating and so on."

"That sounds fine to me. Maybe I could come over and help you pack. It'll make things much quicker and  it'll help us learn about the other."

"I'd love that. Is tomorrow okay with you?"

"I have a meeting in the morning but I can stop right after."

"Perfect then. I'll see you tomorrow."

You walked her out and then headed back in to scan the contract and then shred it before heading home.

This all just seemed like a dream.
