Lena had come home later in the night. She found you laying down in the couch all huddled up as you tried to warm yourself up. She smiled to herself as she went over to gently shake you awake.

"(Y/n), it's late. You should go to bed."

You mumbled something about wanting to get more sleep causing her to let out a soft chuckle.

"You're back is going to hurt in the morning. The couches aren't the best thing to lay down on."

Begrudgingly, you stood up and followed Lena to the guest bedroom to find all your purchases from earlier already inside.

"If you need anything. My room is down the hall. Goodnight (y/n)."

"Night Lena."

You mumbled as you closed the door behind you and laid down on the bed, not bothering to change into something comfortable to sleep in.

Morning soon came and you woke up earlier than usual to the smell of pancakes. After changing into one of the outfits that you had gotten yesterday, you headed to the kitchen to find Lena cooking breakfast.

"Morning! I didn't think you would be up so I was making you something that you could reheat when you did."

"Oh. You didn't have to. I could finish up for you."

She stopped you from taking the pan and gently pushed you back.

"No. No. No. You're my guest and these are also apology pancakes. I'm sorry about yesterday."

"You have nothing to apologize for Lena. I don't want to be overstepping any boundaries and I'm sorry if I did last night."

"You didn't. Now come on. Lets eat before it gets cold."

Lena served the two of you pancakes and began to eat while talking about what the day had in store for her.

"So I'll be announcing LutherCorp changing to L-Corp. I want you to be there."

"Of course, Lena."

"I'll have my driver pick you up an hour before so we could meet up and discuss anything that might pop-up during the conference."

The two of you finished up and she began to grab her things for work.

"I have to go. Last minute preparations for the conference. I'll see you later."

Lena wasn't sure why but she walked over to you, kissing your cheek before she headed out of her apartment.

You didn't think anything of it. It was actually kind of sweet.

With Lena gone. You had the apartment to yourself. After cleaning up the mess from the kitchen, you headed back to your room to unpack what you had gotten yesterday. It's when you noticed an extra bag that you were sure that you hadn't even stepped foot into the store. You pulled everything to find that Lena had bought you a matching necklace and earring set as well as some rings and watches. This must have cost a fortune. You took a picture of them and sent them to Lena, thanking her for the gifts and how much you loved them.

'It's only fitting that my girlfriend wears nothing but the best.'

You smiled after reading her message. Not wanting to bother her anymore, you didn't reply.

This was the perfect thing to send to your friend after realizing that you had yet to text her after promising you would text her after arriving so just sent her a picture of the jewelry.

'No effing. Is that all real? That probably costs more than I'll ever make in 10 years. You're so lucky.'

'I am! and they are. Thank you for not letting me decline this job. This has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. Plus it helps that Lena is so sweet! She made me pancakes.'

'Pancakes? Are we talking about the same Lena that owns LutherCorp and spends more time in her office than her home?'

'Stop. She really did. I have to go. I need to attend one of her conferences. Maybe you could tune in and see me.'

'Maybe. Good luck'

You began to prepare for the conference. Fixing your hair and putting on some light makeup. You put on one of the rings and bracelets that she had gotten you and finished just in time as Lena texted you that her driver had arrived.

"You look gorgeous."

Was the first thing she said as you arrived backstage. The compliment made you smile.

"As do you."

"The conference will be starting in 30 minutes so we have plenty of time to figure out some strategies in case something goes wrong."

The two of you spent all of the spare time talking about what you or her would say if they started asking questions. Everything seemed a piece of cake so you were ready to get this whole thing over with.

You followed Lena out on the stage and stood besides the rest of her board members as she began to talk about all her efforts that she has done to change the company into what it is now. Explaining how she was taking measures to always use her company to help change the world for the better. Once done, she announced the renaming of her company causing an uproar between the journalists and such. She didn't falter and began to answer questions. Even if they were brutal with their wording. It made you want to step in but Lena was handling herself so well. You watched as she gently put down one of the journalists that said she was never going to change. Her answer didn't surprise you. Lena was a professional and you admired her for it.

Just as the conference was going to end, the reporter asked the one question Lena and you were expecting from the start.

"Ms. Luthor, I speak for myself and others but we're all wondering who that woman besides all your board members are? We weren't aware that she was part of your board."

"That's because she's not. She's my girlfriend and is here to support me. Thank you for your time  but that's all the questions I'll be answering."

Shouting began to occur as they all tried to get Lena or you to answer their questions about your relationship. Both you and Lena were lead to a secure backdoor so the two of you could get home safely.

"I have to say it but that was amazing. You're really good at being professional ever if they try to tear you down."

"You get really good at it when your brother happens to be sociopath on a mission to kill the Man of Steel."

The rest of the drive home, Lena spent it avoiding answering any personal or business calls as she talked about what would come next.

Life as you knew it was over. You were now going to be in the spotlight for an undefined amount of time.

A small price to pay for being with Lena. Even if it was all pretend. The least you could do for her was be a friend and offer a shoulder to cry on if she ever needed it.
