With a morbid curiosity
and satisfying dose of pity,
a young man gazed fondly at Sadie,
the sideshow's peaky bearded lady
My dear damsel, you don't belong here
Take my hand, you have nothing to fear
There's a big, wide world that offers much,
like chambermaid, clerk, poet, and such.
So it goes, Sadie left the circus,
knowing life has meaning and purpose.
And that young man, she never forgave
No one will hire a chick who won't shave!
