Skip a few weeks later and literally everyone in the who kingdom was aware of the VK's. Well, all except Virgil. They knew of him and that he was one but no one other then Thomas was aware of his parents or his real name. That caused a lot of problems though, none of which are new to Virgil in the slightest. He was being bullied. This weak was the worst because this weak the history teacher was talking about his mother. And boy did they have a lot to say about her.
Some complained that she was crazy. Spouting shit about how she cursed Aurora over the simple fact that she didn't get invited. Some just called her a bitch. No one actually knew what any of this was actually doing to Virgil, who sat in the back of the class clenching his fists so tightly he was scared he would sprain something. Well... no one but Emile who had been watching him the whole time.
"She's a nut case. Who curses a baby for not being invited?" That made a total of 8 insanity claims so far.
"S-Stup-pid." Virgil muttered under his breath as he felt his power surging in anger. He knew his eyes had to be glowing. Emile who had been watching noticed this and his went wide. "I-It w-was betrayal." Virgil might not like how his mother just pushed him aside the moment his anxiety started to rear its ugly head. But that didn't mean he hated her. That was just how it was on the isle. The weak got punished. He was weak. Despite their nonexistent relationship, however, he just couldn't stand someone talking bad about her... or his father. If Emile's glasses were a trigger for his villain tendencies, then his family was his. "The king betrayed her..."
"What was that?" Virgil jumped as everything went super silent. The teacher was looking around making Virgil wasn't to sink below the desk. "I thought I heard someone say something about the king." Emile raised his hand.
"King Stephen used his relationship with Maleficent to get her wings. It was the betrayal that turned her evil. When Princess Aurora was born all that anger and pain came out all at once sparking her need for revenge. The whole... You took something I loved so I'll take something you loved." Virgil could see how everyone was giving Emile a dirty look but the other didn't seem to notice... or mind. "Obviously her pain turned to malice and as such resulted in her evil deeds. I'm not saying Aurora getting cursed was her father's fault. There are much better ways to deal with grief and pain than what she did... however, to blame it all on mental instability or a lack of an invitation is just not accurate."
"Obviously a VK would side with a villain." Emile sighed as someone giggled in the back. All he could do was fix his glasses as he shook his head.
"Except I'm not on her side. I am just stating facts. What she did was wrong. She curses a baby to die when she turned 16. She only changes the curse to an eternal sleep after King Stephen begged her to lift it." The room was silent as Emile ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "She isn't even the only one either. My mother did the same with Snow White." A collective gasp filled the room as this was the first time one of the VK's openly admitted to who their parent was. "If you really want to talk about phycotics then focus on my mother. She's the one that was so obsessed with beauty that she decided to kill her own stepdaughter to achieve it. She sent someone to carve out the young girl's heart and liver which she willingly ate thinking it was real..." Emile visibly shook bad as he covered his mouth in an attempt to hold back the bile that was rising. "Let's just say it wasn't fun in that household."
"At least you had one." Virgil whispered as he looked down at his amulet. Emile just frowned as he caught what Virgil had said.
"Sssso nice of everyone to draw attention to the villains but what's the point of thissss?" Deceit called out as he raised his hand with a smirk. "Not that I don't like the attention but... I don't understand. Your info is clearly outdated and onessssided." The teacher scoffed and Deceit just smiled wider. "Oh, so your info isn't wrong then?"
"Deceit." Logan's voice popped up and everyone clammed up immediately. "Patton said to reign back that need to start things. Remember?"
"Did he? I had no idea." Logan rolled his eyes as he kept looking at his notes, continuing to write in them.
"Enough of this. Let's get back to..." The bell rang before the teacher could even finish and Virgil was out of there before anything else could be said. Virgil ran all the way until he was standing outside the cafe trying to catch his breath. He was already done with this. They didn't have a school over on the isle. This whole thing was new to them. He pushed through the doors and froze up. he had never actually gone here at all. He always ate with Thomas who willingly offered him some of his food since he never actually says the kid eating. The place was filled to the brim with chatty people and the overwhelming scent of food. It was nearly drowning in it. Well... guess he should do something...
"So... how is everything... you know... going with everyone?" Patton glanced up from his tray to look over at Roman who was trying to avoid looking at him. Roman hadn't actually been apart of the raffle since that first day. After what Thomas had said he pulled back but he couldn't get that anxiety out of his head. The way he looked when they did the physical. The fact he said he was abandoned... It really stuck with him. He had thought about trying to 'befriend' the kid but every time he thought of actually talking to him he'd somehow talk himself out of it. Remus had been keeping him updated with everyone else. Talking about how Logan had been excelling in science and how Deceit was showing interest in drama. Or about how Emile has been helping a lot with the younger royals. Yet Remus has yet to say anything about Anxiety. In fact, he hasn't said anything at all except that he spends a lot of time with Thomas surprisingly. Roman wanted to know more about him.
"What do you mean kiddo? Remus said he was keeping you informed."
"Well, yeah but... I wanted to know from you to." Roman cringed slightly as he looked off into the crowd. He reached out for his muffin only to find it wasn't there and he frowned. Maybe Remus stole it from him?
"Well, thing have been ok so far. Deceit has still been causing trouble but we've started talking about focusing his energy on a hobby. He said he found theater to be interesting so we're looking into that. Emile seems to be very good with the young ones. He absolutely love cartoons apparently the Isle doesn't have anything like that over there. Logan's been diving headfirst into his school work. According to all his teachers, he might even give Remus a run for his money." Roman could only offer a half-smile as Patton went to grab for something only to look confused before shrugging whatever it was off.
"And the thief?" Obviously Patton gave him a stern look for that.
"Anxiety is well... Not much has changed with him. Other than he spends more and more time with Thomas. His grades are precisely average. He doesn't participate in any clubs or activities. In fact, he doesn't do anything but read a lot when he's in the room. I hardly ever see him, to be honest." Roman could hear as some people complained about missing food as he rolled his eyes.
"I still can't believe you gave him half your room. Why not let him room with the others? I'd be afraid he would steal..."
"Hey have you guys lost any food?" Roman stopped short looking over at his brother who just popped up and frowned as he looked around. "It not a lot but some people have complained about something missing. Like a piece of bread or whatever. Nothing big but..."
"No, it's ok... I actually was missing my milk." Roman's eyes narrowed as Patton spoke.
"I just thought you took my muffin." Remus shook his head and Patton sighed.
"Let's go, kiddos. I think I know what's going on."
