Deceit laid there curled up on the bed completely covered by the blanket. He felt so cold his body couldn't stop shivering. HE WASN'T EVEN HUMAN RIGHT NOW! Deceit had shifted while he was out and ended up scaring the shit out of Thomas who woke him up from screaming. Now Deceit was awake, cold, and in pain, as Thomas tried every spell he knew to make it less painful.

Patton didn't tell Thomas what Deceit had told him. He had fully expected Deceit to do it but considering he couldn't speak right now, he wasn't going to. Deceit slowly uncurled himself forcing himself to ignore the agonizing pain that shot through him as he poked his head out of the blanket.

"Deceit?" The snake shifted himself till his head was now laying ontop of the blanket. It's not like the lack of cover really made much of a difference. He was cold either way. Thomas smiled sadly as he moved over to the bed holding his finger out for Deceit to brush against. Dee did of course and Thomas frowned feeling just how hot he was. "We need to get your fever down." Thomas sighed as he knelt down by the bed so that he was closer to the sickly snake. "Do you know what brought this on so suddenly?" Dee nodded as he tried to curl up a bit. "Virgil's sick too... although Roman said it was because of Emile." Thomas frowned even more hearing Dee's whispy hiss as he nodded. "I already know it wasn't entirely his fault. I just need to know if that's what happened to you to."

"Thomas?" Dee visibly flinched as Thomas looked up to find Remus standing in the doorway. Dee was quick to hide under the blanket as Thomas frowned even more over the state the prince was in.

"Remus, what are you doing here? Don't you have a test?" Remus shook his head as he let the door close behind him.  "That was earlier... I-I couldn't focus on it at all."

"You look sick yourself, kiddo." Remus laughed a bit but it just sounded broken.

"Yeah, well... I couldn't sleep." Thomas sighed as he gestured over to one of the chairs that lined the infirmary front wall. "I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat. I couldn't focus. I sat there for the first twenty minutes of the test just trying to get my vision to clear up."

"Well do you know why you couldn't sleep?" Remus nodded as basically slammed his head back wincing at the massive headache.

"I'll be fine, Thomas. I just... I actually came to check up on Virgil. I was there when it happened... We all were." Thomas's eyes went wide as Remus frowned. "What?"

"If you were there to then..." Thomas glanced down at the bed beside him before turning back to Remus. "Do you know what happened to Deceit?" The hiss Deceit let out that time was not whispy or quiet in the least. Remus jumped up in shock as Thomas just sighed. "I can't help you if I don't know what happened."

"Wait, what are you talking about?" Remus's eyes filled with horror as this snakehead popped out from under the blankets. "Cassidy?" Thomas narrowed his eyes as Remus literally collapsed into his chair.

"Remus!?"

"What... Why... why are you... what happ... what's wrong?" Deceit just laid his head down unable to talk or do shift back. He's been stuck in this form for so long. Remus just stared at the bed lost in thought. "I don't understand. Did I miss something? Did something else happen? You were fine when I..." Remus's hands wouldn't stop shaking. "Cassidy?"

"Remus, do you know what happened?" Remus just shook his head as he never took his eyes off the snake.

"No, I... I got angry so I left. I had worked myself up and didn't know how to handle it so... Cassidy came after me and I sort of snapped." Thomas's eyes narrowed as Remus tensed up in concerned confusion. "We got into this fight... It wasn't his fault. I wasn't thinking properly."

"Is that why you could sleep?" Remus nodded as his eyes fell to the floor.

"I said some pretty mean things. I literally told Cassidy I was done simply because Emile snapped. He didn't even do anything except for Virgil... but that's an easy fix for you." Thomas frowned as he looked over at the snake beside him. Deceit's scales had lost quite a bit of color and Thomas was legitimately scared for him. "Cassidy... I'm sorry. I really didn't mean it. I was just so angry. Guess I wasn't in my right mind either huh?"

"What exactly did you say?" Remus frowned in confusion as Thomas watched Deceit carefully.

"I said we were over." Thomas's eyes went wide as Deceit literally flinched again. "I said I couldn't do it that... if he was so adamant about his friends that that was it." Remus wiped the tears off his face as he looked hugged himself. "He begged me not to leave him and I did anyway."

"Remus..." Thomas's eyes went wide as he watched Deceit literally shake as he struggled just to move back off the blanket. It was as if he was in so much pain he couldn't move. "You said he begged you?"

"Yeah, He said I couldn't leave him. I still did though... I'm such an ass."

"You are more than just an ass." Thomas jumped into action as soon as everything clicked. He rummaged through all these vials of medicines and spells until he pulled out this bottle and grinned. He pulled a small pill out and held it out for Deceit who barely even moved at all. "Come on Dee. I know you're in a lot of pain right now but you need to take it." Dee just turned away. "Deceit, please. You have to."

"Thomas, what's going on?"

"He's dying." Deceit started to slide back under the blanket but Thomas threw it off of him so he couldn't hide. "Deceit if you don't take this pill right now..." Deceit just froze up. Thomas could see how Deceit was so tense. "Dee, please. I understand. I really do. I know it hurts but you will die if you don't take this pill."

"What is going on?!" Remus was freaking out. He had literally just come here to see if Virgil was any better and now he's finding out that Cassidy was dying! HOW WAS THAT POSSIBLE?! "Why is he dying?"

"I don't have time to deal with... wait do you seriously not know?" Thomas was at a loss. Here was one of his students literally dying from 'Denial' and now he finds out Remus doesn't even know what he's done. "Deceit did you really not tell him?" Deceit shrunk into himself as Remus stumbled over to the other side of the bed. "Rem..."

"Don't leave me." Deceit's head shot up as Remus fell to his knees overcome by exhaustion. "I don't want to lose you. Whatever is going on... just take the damn pill ok?" Remus smiled sadly as he rested his head on the bed. "Stop being a dork." Deceit slowly slithered his way over to Remus's outstretched hand reveling at the electricity that sparked through him from the contact. "We're still friends. I... I promise. I... I'll never leave you. So don't... don't leave... me." Thomas let his hand drop as he watched Remus's eyes slip shut. His fatigue had won out and it wasn't long before he was out cold. Thomas clutched the pill bottle tightly as Deceit turned to look over at him.

"You need to tell him." Thomas held out the pill placing it into Deceit's open mouth as the snake swallowed it whole. "Those twins have trouble with their anger. If you don't tell him..." Thomas frowned as he slowly put the bottle away. "Remus is better at controlling himself, and when he can't hell remove himself from the picture. Unlike Roman who blows up and then kills himself trying to fix it. He needs to know before anything like this happens again." Thomas shot the two one last look for turning to go find Virgil. "He's going to need you Deceit. Don't let him push you away."
