Roman couldn't tell you how long he was out there for, but it was long enough for some of the animals to come back. Heres the thing... the animals there are a big sign for people. The more 'good' you are the more animals will flock to you. Cinderella, Snow White, and even Patton... being people animals will just flock to at any given moment.

Roman was stunned. For more than one reason but let's just focus on one of them for now. roman was sitting there under a tree petting a small deer with this lost look in his eyes. Anxiety was surrounded by animals. Birds... bunnies... even the very dear he was petting now. It made Anxiety look so... innocent and childlike. Roman didn't know how to feel about it.

He won't even go into the fact that Anxiety's familiar is a bluebird. If it wasn't Patton who told him he wouldn't have believed it. Actually he still doesn't but Patton the one that talks to animals so...

Jesus... If Anxiety's familiar is a bluebird, what does that mean?

Roman couldn't deny he was a tad jealous. A bluebird... A bluebird chose a VK. It was a troubling thought at the very least. And worse still, none of them actually know the boy's parents.

The thing was... that was hardly on Roman's mind at all.

Roman pressed his head into himself as he hugged his knees wanting to scream out but deciding not to. He was at a loss. He should be thinking about the bluebird and what that could mean but instead... his mind was focused solely on something else. Something he had never EVER experienced before that for some ungodly reason left his chest light.

Anxiety spoke.

Yep, that's what plagued his mind like a curse, or a blessing depending on how you saw it. He was enraptured by the single word Anxiety uttered. His quiet voice, soft and shakey... sweet but yet held a slight rasp to it. Light but deep... and Roman was lost.

He didn't stand a chance, to be honest. The moment Anxiety called out to the small bird it was like a stab through the chest. It didn't help that directly afterword Anx had to look adorable. Roman was certain it was some sort of a curse. He wasn't sure what kind but there was just no way any of that was actually real right? Anxiety had spelled him in some way, right?

He had to have...

"Virgil is that true?" The anxious boy looked up to find Thomas frowning and he tensed up. He didn't think he didn't anything bad. What was so wrong if he did? Surely these guys wouldn't be angry at him for doing it. "Virgil?" Virgil glanced over at Patton and frowned before nodded sadly and curling up a bit. Thomas only smiled sadly. "It's ok, Kiddo. I understand... I think anyway. However..." Virgil glanced up through his blue bangs making Thomas look a little weird. "You don't need to steal food here. If you needed help Patton, Remus, or Remy could have helped you get some at the Cafe or you could have just come here like you usually do."

"S-Sorry..." Virgil tensed up out of reflex and frowned as he looked up to see Thomas frowning in concern. It wasn't like he was afraid of Thomas. It's just... Sympathy, kindness... anything good is a weakness. He's the weakest you'll ever find.

"You don't need to apologize, Virgil. You were only doing what you've survived doing. If anything I feel bad that you had to do all that. Your mother... nevermind." Virgil sighed as he looked off to the side ignoring the way Patton just stared at him. "Back to the issue at hand... Patton, you said you found Virgil in the garden?" Patton nodded moving over to be next to the boy. Virgil never met his gaze.

"It isn't much of a problem, Sir, as I believe it to be a sign." Thomas raised an eyebrow at the prince in confusion and Patton laughed a bit. "He was surrounded by animal... a lot of them babies." Thomas's eyes went wide as Virgil shot them both a confused look.

"D-Does that n-not happen often?" Virgil noticed Patton go still as Thomas just smiled over at the boy. "I d-didn't d-do anything bad, d-did I? All I d-did was share my b-bread."

"No, you did nothing bad, Virgil. In fact, it's very good." The way Thomas said good made Virgil flinch a small bit. 'Good' isn't a good thing on the isle. 'Good' is a very bad thing. Yet... Thomas was smiling away as if the best thing in the world happened. All Virgil did was share some bread. "Virgil... was this the first time the animals came near you?"

"No." He blinked a bit taking in their shocked yet happy faces and frowned. "I see them every time I go into the garden. It's nice there. They help calm me down. Why?" Thomas got lost in thought making Virgil get anxious and start to shake. The little bluebird never left his lap as he sat there.

"I'm thinking I should give you a mentor, Virgil." Virgil could only give Thomas a confused look, which made Thomas laugh. "You're clearly more 'good' then others will give you credit for and it should be nurtured not diminished. Plus with that bluebird as your familiar... I'm thinking one of the twins even..."

"But Thomas, Remus is already booked beyond belief. He's got all his clubs and his duties to the kingdom..." Thomas nodded along with everything Patton said until the boy stopped and smiled. "It was never going to be Remus was it?" Thomas only shook his head making Virgil's cest tighten in anxious understanding.

"Virgil, I'm going to set you up with Roman as your mentor." If you couldn't tell he was fearful the way Virgil's eyes turned a shocking green was proof enough. "He will accompany you to you goodness classes and any extracurricular you may participate in. I'll work your schedules around to best fit each other as well."

"B-But..." Thomas only smiled.

"Don't worry, Virge. I promise things will work out for the best."
