"What do you mean he won't leave the room?" Roman sat there on his bed frozen under the words Patton was saying.

"I mean whatever happened at the party really upset him." Patton frowned seeing how broken Roman looked. "Roman, what happened?"

"N-Nothing. I just..." Roman sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. "I took him to the falls. Just to sightsee and stuff... and things got a little... heated?"

"What do you..." Patton frowned seeing the way Roman deflated only for his eyes to go wide. "Oh. I see."

"I love him, Pat. I just want him to see that but..." Patton slowly walked over, sitting next to the other prince and pulling him into a hug. "I should tell him right?"

"Tell him what?"

"That the spell is broken." Patton frowned as Roman shook in his arms. "That way... even if he does leave me over lying to him... he'll stop feeling so guilty. I don't want to hurt him, Patton. I just... I just wanted him to get to know me."

"I think it's best, Roman." Roman laughed sadly as Patton hugged him tighter. "I'm here if you need me. You know that right?"

"Yes, I kno..." There was this hurried and slightly aggressive knock on the door making both princes jump. Patton ran over to open the door only to move back revealing a distraught looking Virgil.

"We need to talk."

"Kiddo..." Virgil's eyes darted to Patton before going back to Roman, who frowned seeing how brightly green they were.

"Alone please, Patton." The moral prince nodded once before walking out leaving Virgil and Roman alone. Roman could tell right away something was very wrong. Especially since Virgil was never brought to Roman's room so...

"How did you..."

"I called Deceit, he told me where your room was." Virgil closed the door as he rummaged through his bag only to pull out this brownie. Roman's eyes went wide as Virgil practically tossed it only to his lap. "I want you to eat it."

"Virgil..."

"Yes, it's spelled." Virgil looked around the room spotting Prince's little dog bed and frowned seeing Prince asleep.

"Virgil, is this about the spell?"

"Just eat it please." Roman frowned as he placed the brownie on the bed as he got up. He held Virgil close as he rubbed Virgil's arms trying to sooth the obviously upset royal down.

"Virgil, It's ok. I promise. If this is about the other day, I really do want this. I-I know that you..." Virgil pulled himself out of Roman's arms making the lighter prince tense up. "Virgil, I love you." He could see how Virgil shook like crazy, hugging himself to hide it as best as he could. "I do. I swear I do..."

"Please just..."

"I already broke the spell." Roman had expected some sort of reaction, but all he saw was Virgil's empty blank expression. "I know I've lying to you. And I'm sorry... I never wanted to hurt you, Virgil. I just didn't want to lose you. I can't lose you." Virgil's eyes narrowed as he met Roman's desperate ones. "Please... Haven't I shown you how much I care?"

"Roman. Eat the brownie." Roman faltered a bit as Virgil's voice warped.

"I know when a person is spelled they'll say or do whatever they have to do to not get unspelled. I know that... i-it took a lot out of me just to break it myself... but I did break it. I broke it the day you told me Virgil... everything has been real." Roman was really desperate. "Please... believe me."

"JUST EAT THE FUCKING BROWNIE!" Roman flinched as Virgil snapped. He could see the pain and fear clear as day in the other. Of course, the yelling also woke up Prince who walked himself over to Virgil sensing the pain in both of them

"Ok, Virgil." Roman sighed as he slowly pulled the brownie out of the little baggie and frowned. "If it will help you." Prince sniffed the air, eyes going wide as he caught the scent of what the brownie really was.

"Just..." Virgil could feel the tears pricking at his eyes as he watched Roman. Prince yipped and scratched at Roman trying to get his attention but it was clear that Roman was only paying attention to Virgil. "Just eat it." Roman nodded as he bit into it. Virgil choked back the sobs that wanted to escape him as he watched Roman eat the whole thing. The prince's eyes glazed over a bit and Virgil smiled, ignoring the tears that spilled. Roman stumbled a bit catching himself on the bed as Virgil took the bag from him. "You're ok, Princey."

"V-Virgil?" Roman's eyes started to drop as Virgil pushed him against the bed. "What..."

"It's ok, Roman." Roman laid himself back as Virgil covered him up with the blanket. Prince whined as Virgil stepped away, tears falling from fast. Prince pawed at Virgil, who picked him up and placed him beside Roman. "You watch over him, Prince." Virgil smiled sadly as he petted the dog. "Promise me?" Prince nodded although extremely confused why Virgil did it. Virgil looked back at Roman and choked back more sobs that tried to rear its ugly head. "I love you too, Roman." Virgil walked over to the door stopping for only a second to look back at the sleeping prince. "Goodbye, My love."

As soon as Virgil left the castle he chucked the little baggie as far away from him as possible. He ran as fast as his legs could take him only stopping the moment he spotted the falls. He couldn't hold it back anymore. He fell to his knees screaming out in pain as his tears burned his skin. He hated this so much. He hated doing this, but he had to. He loved Roman. He loved him so much he couldn't possibly hurt him. His mother... His mother was right. Loving someone only gave you something to lose... something someone could use against you. Virgil didn't want that for Roman. The only way he knew how to save the man he loved...

... was to make it so Roman never loved him.
