'Villain.'
'Pathetic.'
'Go away!'
'Fuck off, Virgil.'
'I so don't like you.'
'Just like your mother.'
'What are you doing?!'
'Nothing but a villain's kid.'
'Evil just your father.'
'I hate you.'

"Sorry." It seems to be all Virgil ever says to him. Especially after he found out.

"JUST STOP TALKING!" Virgil flinched as Roman yelled out to him anger burning in his eyes. "I don't want to hear it. So stop talking to me." Virgil didn't understand what he did, but whatever it was clearly made Roman hate him. "Besides, you're not sorry otherwise you would stop!"

"What am I..."

"STOP TALKING TO ME!" Virgil deflated as he hugged his bag close to his chest. "I. don't. want. to. hear it!" Roman took a step back with this horrified look in his eyes as he clenched his fists tightly. "Just... please stop."  Virgil didn't nod. He didn't talk. He didn't do anything. He just stood there staring down at the ground waiting in silence. "What class do you have next?" Virgil didn't say anything. If he did he would just get yelled at again. He knew Roman wasn't actually asking him but just voicing his question out loud. "Shit do you even have a class or..." Roman stopped and Virgil tensed expecting him to yell again. He didn't.

Roman wasn't yelling because he was to busy noticing the position Virgil was in, head down and tightly wound in a fearfully submissive stance. Roman sighed rummaging through his things for his own schedule. No... Virgil didn't have a class. Neither of them did, but Roman did have practice.

"Follow me." Virgil didn't even hesitate. The moment Roman started walking Virgil did to his bird following closely behind him tweeting angerly over Roman. Or at least that's what Virgil though it was about anyway. Virgil still didn't understand Blue, but Thomas said that eventually, he would be able to. Just like Blue was able to know just what Virgil was thinking. It's their bond. "Virgil..." Virgil froze feeling the anxiety creep up as he dared a glance at the prince. All he saw was his pierced lips. He couldn't meet Roman's eyes. "Watch where you're going. You're just going to end up getting hurt."

'Like you would care.' Virgil's mouth opened to say it but nothing came out, making him just mouth the words instead. He stared back down at the ground and frowned as Roman sighed loudly in frustration.

"Just hurry up then, I'm gonna be late because of you." Virgil did as he was told and walked behind the prince ignoring every look and whisper that past... well, he made no reaction to it but he heard it all the same.

'Look at that weirdo, following the prince like a lost puppy.'
'Being next to Roman isn't going to save him.'
'Stupid villains they need to go back home.'
'Anxiety's the worst, forcing Roman into hanging out with him.'
'What is he even planning?'
'That poor bird... I hate Vk's so much.'

"VIRGIL!" Virgil ignored him as he pushed past walking into the gym just to get away from the voices behind him. "Excuse me... What?"

"Roman, you're late." The prince frowned as he watched Virgil make his way to the bleachers. Roman sighed as he tried to offer his teacher a small smile.

"I'm sorry Mulan. I'll work harder to get here on time." He shot a look over at Virgil who seemed to shrink into himself and Roman narrowed his eyes in concern. It wasn't even a mean look. He was just looking over at him but yet Virgil reacted as if Roman was mad at him again. "So what's on the agenda today?" Mulan smirked seeing the excitement in Roman's eyes.

"Grab your sword." Roman smiled as he unsheathed his sword and immediately took stance. Virgil watched from where he sat with a raised eyebrow. "Alright, let's go."

Mulan was careful. Virgil could see the restraint in her as she took Roman down every single time. Virgil was adept at measuring the differences in strength. It was one of the few skills he had that kept him alive. Plus he would be lying if he said he didn't learn a few things from his boss. That was before his son was old enough to do Virgil's job and he was once again kicked to the curb. Can't be mad though. Jafar was only ever in it for the spoils. Virgil narrowed his eyes once again Roman fell to his ass and he sighed in annoyance. If he learned one thing while working for Jafar other then how to steal... it was weapons. Well, it wasn't really Jafar that taught him it. No, it was those pirates that taught him out to fight. Every battle he was forced to go through with them he turned into a learning experience. When you have no magic you learn to fight. It was all he had to go for him.

Virgil was getting bored. Roman wasn't grasping things properly. Mulan's teaching style was obviously do and learn through experience but Roman wasn't learning. He didn't even have the proper stance down. He looks too rigid.

"CAN YOU SHUT THAT BIRD UP?!" Roman screamed out haulting the whole lesson and Virgil jumped. He hadn't even noticed Blue was singing. Virgil paused taking in what Blue was singing and laughing. It was rushed and pointed as if trying to give Roman instructions. Virgil couldn't stop laughing, making Mulan smile at the change in atmosphere around the boy.

"Why would I do that when your the one that needs help?" Virgil choked out through the laughter forgetting Roman gets angry when Virgil talks. The bird stopped singing only to fly around Virgil before resting on the beside him with an almost curt nod.

"What?" Virgil tensed hearing the rage in Romans voice and immediately clammed up.

'Sorry...' Once again he was only able to mouth it as he sat back in silence.

"Young man..." Virgil glanced over to see Mulan smiling at him and Roman frowned. "What's your name?" He made no effort to answer and Roman silently groaned.

"His name is Virgil. He's one of the VK's Patton brought from the Isle." Mulan frowned as she looked between the two. The difference in stature and personality was obvious. As was the discord.

"Virgil? Would you mind coming over here please?" Mulan had a plan in mind, and she wasn't going to let this opportunity pass her by. Virgil only nodded once as he slowly got up and walked over to them. "Thank you. Now... Have you ever held a sword?"

"Wait, what is going on?" Mulan ignored Roman as Virgil nodded again. "WAIT, WHAT?"

"Roman, dear... shhh." Mulan grabbed a wooden sword and handed it to Virgil. Already she could see Roman tense up. "Now. I would like you two to spar."

"I am not fighting with..." Virgil took a deep breath calming himself down and both the others could see the immediate change in him. "Virgil?" Roman really didn't want to fight him. He didn't want to at all but seeing the way Mulan smirked he realized he was not getting out of this one. "I mean it's not even fair. You gave him a wooden one. Shouldn't I have one too?" Roman narrowed his eyes as he gripped his sword tighter. Mulan shook her head as he backed away from the darker boy. His eyes were already glowing green as he waited patiently. "It's not my fault if he gets hurt."
